Crazy Electrical Problem on 1990 Chevy Celebrity by
The Doctor
OK, here's a really frustrating problem....I have a 1990 Celebrity
Wagon, 75k miles, owned since 15k. It has a 3.1 w/auto & most every
option. The problem is, the other month, the radio blinks & went
out...thought that it may have seen better days...then, about 30 miles
later, the car was...

Shudders at stop light: Clean throttle body? by
Richard
98 Saturn SL 114K miles
When I stop at a light, within about 30 seconds, sometimes sooner, sometimes
longer, the car will shudder like it is going to stall and the rpms drop
from the normal 800 (idle) to about 700. It bounces right back and doesn't
happen again. Sometimes when it bounces back I...

Parking Brake Stuck by
Ralf
Parking Brake Won't Release:
You see smoke or smell burning brakes, or the rear wheels are abnormally
hot, after driving. It feels like the car is dragging when going forward and
rolls easily in reverse. The parking brake moves very easily up and down.
Possible causes:
1.. Parking brake cables are...

How do drivers use the 6th gear in a manual? by
[email protected]
This may be a naive question, but please bear with me.
I have driven 5 speed transmissions for most of my life and am now
upgrading to a great vehicle with a 6 speed.
I wonder if other stick shift lovers out there can tell me when and how
they like to use the 6th gear? Is there more to it than...

96 Nissan Pathfinder - Missing/Hesitation/Bad Idle by
Not Anyone We Know
Howdy folks. 96 Nissan Pathfinder. 3.3L V6 2WD. 151K on the odom. Three
weeks ago started getting a real bad surging/poor acceleration problem. At
a stop, the engine would idle poorly, and on acceleration, would be very
sluggish, and then suddenly accelerate as if nothing was wrong.
So, this...

Nate Nagel
Hi all,
got a bit of a problem. Was heading over to my friend's garage today to
work on my old cars when I started hearing an occasional click from the
trusty 944. Well I threw it up on the lift and couldnt find anything in
the front end (I initially suspected a ball joint, which would have...

trans swap / interchange in 88 Chev diesel by
jeff
Hi all. I'm fairly conversant with mopar stuff, but completely
ignorant about GM so please forgive me.
My father has a '88 Chev p/u with a 6.2L diesel and the 4 speed auto
trans went south on him. My questions:
-Is this a TH700R4 trans?
-When searching for another trans, what are my interchange...

99' Chevy Silverado ABS malfunction by
Anumber1
I own a '99 chevy silverado pick up with a 4.8 liter V8, auto trans, 4X4,
standard cab, shortbox with 80k miles on it.
For about a week now the ABS "goes" when stopping. It only occurs at or just
below 5 mph, never at higher speeds and on dry clean roads (Obviously when
it is NOT needed). It seems...

-Last night, filled tank in 2000 Sephia with no previous signs of

Blow-off Valve by
omirix
The sound of the blow-off valve, when you let off the gas after the
turbo is spooled, is that sound affected by the type of turbo, spool
rpms, or the blow-off valve?
Thankyou.

Creaky suspension by
B.B.
A couple of days ago my front left corner began to creak and squeak.
Quite a lot, actually. It's noisy both when bouncing the corner of the
car and when steering side-to-side, so I figure a ball joint of some
sort.
So, here's the question: is this merely noise, or is it (I'm afraid)
a symptom of a...
