Gray market E36 diesel -- good buy or orphan nightmare? by
Matt O'Toole
I've come across a gray market E36 diesel wagon, '93 model, imported in the late
90s and currently registered in NY. Supposedly all the legal documentation is
present, title clear, etc. It looks like a good buy -- but would I be buying a
nightmare? This model was never imported to the US, nor to...

E39 Waterpump impeller by
Mel Z.
Having had the plastic impeller disease on my E34 I'm wondering about my
recently acquired 2000 E39. Does this engine use a plastic impeller water
pump as well, and if so what's the anticipated time / mileage before
failure?
TIA,
Mel

This time its different. The trans shift to limp mode and will not stay

Changing Clock? by
PyroJames
Thanks to getting a second hand E46 330d without a radio manual, I can't
work out how to reset the clock. Thanks to clocks going back I now need to
change them. The car has the RDS Business radio/cassette plus CD changer.
Anyone?

Reverse parking sensors by
Huw
For the sake of argument, say that I wanted to install aftermarket reverse
parking sensors to an entry level new 3 or 5 series model. How would it be
wired?
A 'normal' car would be easy. Just scotchlock a cable into the reverse light
feed and fix the other cable to an earth. It's not that simple...

I have a 94/95 BMW 325 convertible
The other day I had the top down and push the button for all the windows

Replacement battery for '94 E36 325ic by
Bruno
I've done a Google search, but not gotten the answer. I'm looking for
the proper battery for an E36 convertible, which I understand takes a
different battery than the other models. Interstate lists an MTP-91,
but is this not acceptable for the convertible? Can someone shed a bit
more light on this...

I have a 2000 528i
Under the hood there are two air filters inside black casings. How often do
they need to be changed, and should you change them or can they be washed?

Snow Tires for a '98 740iL by
Rob Kos
I currently have Michelin MXV4 235/60 R 16 tires on the 1998 740iL.
I've always used them as year round tires with so so results in the
winter. Having put on snows on my '01 530 SP with great results, I was
wondering if the snows were as needed on the 740 as they are on the
530 SP. If you think so,...

Low coolant level -- what potential damage to engine? by
Tqz
All,
I bought a very nice used 2000 BMW 328i a few days back and have been
very happy so far. After a few days I was driving in city conditions
(stop/go/idle a lot) and noticed some steam coming from under the hood
while driving and a slight antifreeze smell. Then the
low-coolant-level light...

Adding oil/water gauges to an E36 by
Bob
I'm considering adding a set of gauges to my 1999 M3 and have a couple
questions.
1) The three in one sets that I've seen are all oil pressure, water
temperature and volts. I'd prefer (and would think would be more
important) oil pressure and temperature and water temperature. Why do
these kits...

However, I won't be able to spend major money on a conversion. I have
