Air Con Advice Please???? by
Paul Woodsford
I have an 18mth old UK reg: Alfa 147 1.6T Spark Lusso.
I have just returned from 10days in N.Spain.
Very hot and humid so Air Con in use. After 3 days noticed front passenger
footwell carpet wet, also no water drainage from Air Con under car.
No rain during that period and missed the storms in UK...

Warning light by
Stuart
I have a 156 that has just started to show a warning light when the engine
is switched on. Unfortunately I have lost the car manual so could anyone
tell me what it means?
The light is in the lower half of the speedo, right hand instrument dial, is
yellow/amber and looks like an inverted light bulb...

viewing a 156 2.0 by
NC
After trashing my 1.8 156 TS, I'm viewing an X reg (2000) 2.0 156
tonight. Is there anything different to the 1.8 that I should be keeping
an eye out for in the service history ?? 72k miles, full AR history,
cambelt done (@59k), 1 owner. Sounds a good buy on paper - but anything
particular to check...

V6 Spark Plug Changing Period by
Mr Flipflops
I'm about to take my 156 V6 in for it's 96000 service. Just curious why, in
the service manual, spark plugs are changed at 48k, and then no further
mention of them is made. Shouldn't they also be changed at 96k? And is the
air filter really every 24,000 miles? And how come HT leads...

Alfa 147 2001 - Getting into the glovebox by
Ash
Hi,
Some time back the chrome handle on my glove compartment broke off. No too
much of a problem as a could open the compartment by pulling the metal
fixture that the handle screwed on to.
Today however whilst trying to screw the handle back on of managed to mess
something up so I can't get in...

selespeed reliability by
lo
Hi all,
I've got a second-hand 156 selespeed ('00), it has just 78.000 km and
yesterday I had to replace the selespeed pump since I could not shift
gears anymore. The mechanic previously said it could be an actuator,
wich is very expensive. So now I am worried that something else will
break on the...

Cycle Carrier Advice by
Graeme Cosgrove
I need to carry two bikes on my 156. I don't want a roof rack because
of the impact on the already poor fuel consumption. Can anyone
recommend a boot mounted carrier that "works" e.g. doesn't knacker the
paintwork, holds the bikes securely, etc etc. Ideally I dont want a
lighting bar either...

Sportswagon Arial by
Quiz
Whilst I had an Electrician looking at my 2.4 JTD Sportswagon
yesterday,I asked him to look at my radio arial... the FM works but
the Medium wave does not.
After a bit of hunting we found the arial in the Tailgate with a
Booster attached to it.
The arial and booster checked out OK. But when I...

AR 146 air circulation by
G_ar146ti
Hello Gentlemen,
I have a technical question regarding my (1996) 146ti.
I don't know the exact technical word, but there's a flap
that closes when inside air circulation is needed.
On my car, that just stopped in closed position.
In wintertime there was a trick for opening :
I switched the...

Unavailable Sillyspeed Part by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me in a battle with Alfa Romeo UK. A
pressure sensor failed in the clutch actuator on my 156 Selespeed
causing it to be just a huge hunk of metal with an engine in it. Starts
fine but a red light mocks any attempt to engage a gear. No problem,
these things...

147 second service due by
rk
Hi,
I have a 2003 147 2.0 TS which will be 2 years old at the end of the
month. Last year around this time, I had it serviced with the 12k
service, it had done 3k miles.
Now a year on it has done 10k miles and is due another service. My
question is should this be another 12k service or 24k given...

Of cambelts and undertrays... by
Barry Bingham
Recently been helping a friend choose a used 156 and was amused to note
how the official dealer network - even now - holds to the line that 72K is
the change interval for cambelts on the Twin Sparks. I was told that
choosing to change it before then was "optional". Is then paying the £2k
fitted...
