Nice day for a drive / T1R thoughts by
Lanny Chambers
Sunny, mid 50s, light wind, and the roads have been washed clean of sand
and salt--a perfect afternoon for the year's first serious top-down
jaunt into the Ozarks. We headed south for the Two-hour Loop, about 100
miles that include three of our favorite twisty backroads. The
centerpiece, a 10-mile...

Buy a used car site for a dealership established, preferably one

security umbrella that can not wait to get elsewhere. The cheapest is

Hot weather starting problems by
John Ings
Please excuse the brief intrusion of a Honda enthusiast in your forum!
I run the FAQ for rec.autos.makers.honda and over the past couple of
months we have been getting the usual spate of questions about hot
weather starting problems. This is a known Honda foible and we have
the answer ready....

Mazda creates a contender! by
XS11E[_1_]
For a couple of years now, Audi and Toyota have duked it out over who
could design the ugliest front end ever put on an automobile but now
Mazda has joined the fray with the Mazda 6!
Certainly a contender, it's hideousness is worthy of inclusion among
the ugliest ever...

Drove a new MX5 today and... by
XS11E
....absolutely detested the car! The very last thing I expected is the
car would hurt, the seat put a pain in my back that still hasn't gone
away, the throttle position caused enough pain in my ankle to where I
had to use the cruise control and the left hand cup holder, the one
built into the door...

removing stripped spark plug - suggestions? by
pws
I am parting out a 1990 white miata, and spark plug #3 is badly stripped
at the part where the spark plug attaches to the socket, not the thread
that the spark plug itself goes into. The spark plug is completely
stripped, and the part of the plug that the spark plug wire boot
attaches to is broken...

Winter Driving in SW Ontario? by
Carol[_2_]
My winter vehcile has given up the ghost and I am considering driving
my 2000 Miata in the winter now. I would obviously put snow tires on
it but can anyone comment on how it handles in the snow and ice?
Would be much appreciated.
Thanks

sound of water by
dunc37
I have had a Mk 1 import for the last 10 years. Recently, somehow, water
is getting into the car (yes I have got the roof up) following heavy rain
and I can hear it sloshing around under the floor on the passenger side.
I have checked that there are no blocked drain holes but can't find any
drain...

My new toy... by
Alan Baker
I'm afraid my 1990 is not going to get as much TLC as I'd originally
planned.
Taking the race driving course at Laguna Seca has changed my priorities,
and so I've bought this:

Ford 'badged' vehicle built on Miata frame? by
Karl North
Hi everyone,
I was driving "Maggie Mae" (My 'new' '01 Miata) this evening and my best
girl posed a very thought provoking question. She asked 'with all the
crossover (Rebranded / rebadged) cars that Ford & Mazda make
(Explorer-Navajo, MX6-Probe, 323-Laser, Escape-Tribute, etc etc) why...

Pulled the trigger today... by

....on new wheels and tires.
I couldn't find the combination of extreme lightness and price that I
would have liked in 16" rims for my 1990 Miata, so I accepted that 15"
was going to be the way to go.
So I've just ordered four 949 Racing 15x7.5 6ULs with Toyo T1Rs in

Off-topic / GPS question by
pws[_1_]
A friend gave me a Garmin emap GPS from 1991. It's old but it works.
Anyway, I would like to upgrade to a more modern one, I can actually
still sell this for about $80.00 to help offset the cost.
I would rather have a hand-held unit, and I won't try to program it
while driving.
This would...

Is there a way to cancel out the airbag light? I have a 1991 miata the car

an aftermarket momo steering wheel that was installed "junk". If...

Another strange AC problem by
Mac[_2_]
Have a strange AC issue. 1990 Miata. New compressor, expansion valve,
pressure switch, drier. All gauge values look good. Run it for a
while, no set time. Then it will just stop and the rpm's will jump up
to around 2000. can hit the switch and turn of the ac and the rpm's go
back to normal. ...
