2003 colors by MichaelC541
I have a 2003 mazda in a teal color. best guess, this color was not an option in 03. There is not a color code on the door, but looking behind some equipment, it is the same color. Is it possible this teal is the original color?

what's involved in putting an air bag back in a '92? by ~ Avery Anderson~
Hi, I just bought a 92 Miata that had been in an accident that caused the airbag to deploy. The car was repaired and sold sans the airbag to the guy I bought it from who has been driving it for 4 years without an airbag. Is this something a back yard mechanic can do, or is it better left to...

Converting to another battery by Chuck
Converting to a "regular" wet cell lead acid battery is not a good idea, since the battery is in the trunk. Glass mat batteries with correctly placed vent connections are available--WESTCO battery makes a commonly used replacement, as do others. A conventional wet cell battery would need to be...

Creaky exhaust on Miata NC by Chipper
Hi, The exhaust on my 2008 2.0i Sport NC has really got creaky of late - and by creaky I mean that as it expands/contracts, you can really hear the darned thing, even while the engine is still on. I've never known a noisier steel exhaust and it's so crazy I wonder if anyone else has...

cyl head removal and oil pan removal. by mikestp
I am considering doing a removal and rebuild of the top end. But I was also considering a re-ring . I would do so if I could easily remove and replace the oil pan and other stuff to push out the pistons for a cleaning and a fresh set of rings. Can this be done easily with the engine block...

Second Generation Top Question by [email protected]
So I am feeling quite smug yesterday having swapped out the original top on my 97 with a top from an 02. Found the 02 top at the junkyard still on the frame with so the entire job took a little over 2 hours. The 02 top was already off the car and I have never been inside a 2nd generation so...

Headllight Motor? by Cat in the Hat
My right front headlight has decided to wink all the time. Once in a while it will stop but that is infrequent at best. For now I have it in the "up" or on position and disconnected the motor. Anyone know of a place to buy a replacement? I've tried miata.net, RavenWing and gomiata.com without...

95 Miata (no spark) by ron0810
Hello, This is my first time posting to this site. I was driving my wifes 95 Miata 1.8 ltr to work and it died. All the electrics worked, except that it died (It happened at 4:30 am. So head lights were in use.) I bought a new coil pack and that did nothing. Any ideas of where I should look...

four wheels came off? by Leon van Dommelen
Took Bess to AutoX today. There was an RX-7 from which on one of the first turns all four wheels came off. Presumably nut lugs that seemed to screw on OK, but that I think did not quite have the right thread. I am guessing they rested on just the edges of the thread, and when torqued down, were...

Another check engine light - how to handle this one? by [email protected]
Well my Miata is an '03 (Shinsen edition) with about 33K that I've had since Feb '07. Check Engine light came on 2 weeks ago. Decided to buy a code reader (~$45) and read the alert code a few days ago, which came up as P0455. This is "Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (gross leak/ no...

Shock replacements by Mark[_4_]
My '97 is due for replacing the shocks, and I've got them all ready, sitting in my garage. Since my life is somewhat hectic, to say the least, I'm not sure if I'd be able to find time enough in a weekend to do all 4. I was wondering if there is any reason why I couldn't do the rears one weekend...
