1988 Suburban TBI stalling and choking by tpcolson
5.7L with TBI: I replaced the knock sensor and the cap/roter. It still starts hard and stalls and chokes under acceleration. It won't even make it up a hill unless at idle. Touching the gas pedal causes it to choke and sputter. Any ideas? thanks.

1994 F-250 Computer Problems by ford250-460
Looking for info on what to do about my truck. My '94 F250 has a 7.3L 460. 103k and a good clean engine with no oil leaks, generally a really good truck. It began to run like crud so on the recommendation of my Mechanic I replaced all of the EGR (4,metal ones off back of engine) did an extensive...

'79 FJ40 Rear Differential rebuild by Paul Hovnanian P.E.
I may be needing one soon. The pinion bearing had some play in it. What's a reasonable price for a rebuild? I can pull the differential carrier and bring it to the shop myself (saving the axle-pulling labor charges). What are the best shops in the Seattle area to have this done? -- Paul...

Grand Cherokee 4WD problem by Micah
Hello Folks, I have a 2000 Gr. Cherokee that makes a noise which seems to speed up as I accelorate; something like a branch caught in bicycle spokes. It's always in 4WD and I do not have the option to change this. I have a feeling it's in the Transfer Case but would hope that a Jeep with 52,000...

Steering pull by Spud Demon
I have a problem on my S-10 Blazer 4x4. The steering pulls. It pulls gently to the left when accellerating or cruising, then when I hit the brakes it jerks to the right suddenly and then doesn't pull any more. I have listened for noise from all this, and there isn't any that I can tell. Does...

Chevy Blazer Broken/Stuck Bulb in Rear Right Tail Light by Spiderman
The rear right (passenger side) brake light & turn signal were not working on my 1989 Chevy S10 Blazer. When I went to replace the applicable 2057 bulb (dual filiment) in the tail lamp, the old bulb just broke right off....apparently it was corroded/stuck inside the socket. I tried to remove the...

what is it? by Wedge Motor
I have been driving by this military jeep for a while but I wasn't sure what it was. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a manufacturer's tag on the dashboard that was written in Italian. The vehicle was listed as a Fiat 1101A. My question is does anyone know anything about these vehicles and when...

Did I ruin my engine ??? by Mike McAuley
'02 2500HD 4x4 with 6.0L gas engine. Inadvertantly put in about 5 gallons of old, yellowed gas from another vehicle that had been sitting idle for about a year. No doubt had water in it too. 2 days later, the 2500HD wouldn't start in the morning and making very scary ($?) clanging noises. After...

possible to make a full size Chevy 4x2 work in sand? by [email protected]
Is there anything I can do besides a 4x4 conversion that will make my 4x2 full size G20 van make it through some pretty thick/sinky sand? My thought is to put a put a locker on the back, give it a lift, and carry around some Mickey Thompson 35x17.5 tires which I can pop on only when I need to make...

Knurling a piston ??????? by John M. Wright
I just took my 300 block in to be tanked and bored. The guy at the machine shop says that the block isnt worn enough to need boring. Just a hone and piston knurling should be good enough. I've seen knurled valve guides, but a knurled piston ?OK, thats a new one on me. Is this a good thing or...

1994 Explorer hubs "grinding"/"buzzing"/"noisy" when disengaged by Chris
Hey everyone, When I bought my truck, the 4 wheel drive did not work (front wheels did not have power). My mechanic observed that the right side worked, but the left side did not. I picked up a used hub at the wreckers, installed it, and the 4x4 now works fine. However...when i disengage the 4...
