Electrical Problems by
[email protected]
I have a number of problems on my Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0. The first is
that the Hand Brake and ABS light indicators on the dashboard flash
occasionally, most noticably after going over a bump. The speedometer
also sometimes cuts out before coming straight back on and was
wondering if anyone had any...

driving on flat tyre ? by
NC
I have a 156 1.8TS 1999. Last night I noticed that the rear left tyre is
flat. There is a tyre centre around 100m up the road - am I OK to drive
it that far or must I put the space-saver on for this very short trip ?

New 147 recall by
cupra
Further to my (rather muddled!) question about the ease of changing
sidelights on a 147, I've picked up mine from a service to be told it's had
a recall carried out for an ECU software upgrade.
They didn't elaborate on the reason, whether it was 'serious' or not, and
which models were affected -...

147 sidelight.... by
cupra
ISTR someone mentioning that it's a bit tricky replacing sidelight bulbs -
dealer has just quoted £20 to do so as part of service (short shrift
given....)?

Parts/Labour warranty for 156 Selespeed by
Mike
Hi all,
The 6 month warranty that came with my 156 Selespeed when I bought it
has just expired and I need to renew.
Luckily I haven't had any problems as yet but after reading some of
the horror stories in this listing its definitely something that needs
sorting ASAP.
Can anyone recommend and has...

Installing turbo in 146 1.6 TS by
SysCold
Is it possible? Year 1998. How much power should it get? Now it has
120HP. Would that dramaticly shorten the life of engine?
What about fuel consumption? Not it's 9-10 liters/100km.
And finally: the price?
Thank you all...

156 48000 mile service by
Halmyre
Is the 48,000 mile service for the 156 1.8TS a major service? I've
already had the cambelt changed, and the variator (although it is a bit
noisy again). I would look up the hand-book but it's in the car and,
er, it's dark outside...
Also, what's the likely price?

Alfa Magazine by
The jackal
Hello all,
Does anyone know whether Alfa produce a regular magazine dedicated to
their cars?
We have had a BMW (great car), AUDI (Great car too) and SAAB (ahem ...
next ...) and they all have regular magazines that have the a mix of
information about their cars and lifestyle stuff.
So does...

alfa speedline alloy wheels by
tjd
I have just purchased some 16" speedline (5 hole) alloys for my 156
(from ebay) and would appreciate a bit of advice. Basically the wheels
didn't come with bolts and my existing bolts (my car currently has some
fairly nasty 15" non-alfa alloys) are slightly longer (by about 5mm)
than the ones the...

Dampers by
GentleFoot
Anyone know anything about dampers? Meed to change mine as I replaced the
springs a while ago and the higher spring rate seems to have lead to the
car being underdamped. I have seen a Bilstein kit (monotube) from Balance
Motorsport (www.balancemotorsport.co.uk) for about £600 but I have...

Pertronix coil by
Mike Anthony
Hello
First of all Merry Christmas / Nadolig Llawen to all.
Now, down to business. Has anyone any experience of using the Pertonix
Flame Thrower coil? I'm using my Alfetta GTV as my daily driver and I
understand that the Pertronix coil gives a bigger spark and, therefore,
makes starting easier....

There an' back again... by
Dr Entropy
A bit OT, 'cause we went in the Benz...
"Diesela" got us there with NO trauma. Visited a local Miami Alfa shop on
Monday AM, got to fiddle with a beautifully restored 2L GTV a bit, and
natter with the owner about cars and life in general. They've got a
factory hard top I WANT, as well. And a yard...

156 Headlights by
Steve Collins
Hi,
I need to change my RHD headlights for LHD ones on a 1997 156. I've found a
place which can supply the units for £150 each but am uncertain whether I
can do the job myself. Does anyone have experience of doing this? The
technical CD makes it look simple enough except where it says you need...
