Lane use questions. by
Robert F Merrill
I'm a bit of a novice driver, and live in an area where using a freeway is
not a common occurrence -- in fact, roads very rarely have more than 2
lanes in either direction, and the ones that even have that many are
usually within the town centers.
Since I'm a newbie and I've never really had...

cattle by
Sam O'Nella
I have to chuckle at the cattle I encounter on the highways. I'm not
referring to farm creatures, rather the ones behind the wheel.
What is it about some people that makes them "hang" with others?
Last night I'm driving down the highway. I pass a car, gain some space then
pull in front. They...

Auto Lighting Enthusiasts... by
Daniel J. Stern
Mr. Griffey:
<snip URL for OP's own auction -- spamming isn't classy>
Your auction warns against being "fooled" by flashers that "claim to be
electronic, they use relays or moving contacts that can pit and burn".
That's more than a little disingenuous. Theoretically, sure, turn signal
flashers...

Revelation today: You are right! LLBing is bad! by
Usual Suspect
All of you who were saying that driving in the left lane is bad, were very
right. Driving in the left lane is very, very bad, immoral, illegal,
politically incorrect, taboo, offensive and insensitive. Stick to your
right lane, suckers, and leave LLBing to me. The fewer of you I have to
share my...

Speeding Ticket in DC by
Zwanz of Never
This morning I got a speeding ticket...I was on a two lane road, with a
30mph speed limit (if you are familiar with the area,16th street towards
silver spring). I was coming up to a red light with a car and a cop in the
next lane over...the red turned green and I sped by both at 30mph (the
limit) -...

*** Fighting a minor ticket ( Making left turn from center lane AZ) by
abbygale
Two years ago I was getting photo-radar tickets every three months.
Then I saw a FOX News report that showed how well this PHOTOBLOCKER
spray worked. It showed Denver police Department testing it and cops
actually called it surprisingly effective.
I have tested the spray myself. I triggered one of...

"Cover your break"? by
Magnulus
I've heard this advice alot. My question is, why cover your break at
an intersection- what use does it do?
Suppose I enter an intersection with a green light at 30 mph (following
the usually defensive driving advice to slow down a bit), and I just happen
to see that pickup comming at me at 40...

Go with the flow = wrong! by
[email protected]
The advice "go with the flow" is wrong. The safest and most stress free
way to drive on congested interstates is to keep your distance from
other vehicles by waiting for a break in the traffic. When a break
comes, THEN go at a speed so your distance remains constant from
traffic far ahead and...

Warranty/maintenance question by
The Lindbergh Baby
When you buy a car you get the listing of "scheduled maintenance": 750
miles, have basic checks, 15,000 miles, more of same, etc.
My question is, if you have most of that stuff looked at during regular
oil changes and other fluid maintenance and are reasonably sure the 7500
or 15000 checks are not...

speeding in passing lane by
Magnulus
The other day I was driving to the mall. I went down a road in the
rightmost lane. When I was approaching the intersection, I started
signalling, checked my mirror, and there was a big pickup off to the left.
Well, I thought this guy, being a bit over the speed limit would GET A CLUE
and slow...
