Body shop in Tampa, FL by
Eric Rizzo
For the Tampa Bay area readers: do you have any experience with body
shops in the area (Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater) for minor fiberglass
repair. The tip of my C3's nose got scraped up and I'm not sure who to
take it to.
I got one recommendation for Superior Auto Body in north St. Peterburg.
Any...

Slotted vs Drilled Rotors by
Holo
I'm upgrading the brakes and rotors. Are there any significant
differences between slotted and drilled rotors? I suspect performance is the
same, but I haven't found any information stating one way or the other.

something. But I know my virtual friends here in the vette group will
help me!
My 1992 LT1 corvete coupe takes about 5 or 6 seconds every morning to
start...
The engine "cranks" so I have eliminated a bad starter... Ive

American Collectors Insurance question. by
Dad
American Collectors Insurance, does anyone have a good or bad feeling about
their worth. I was quoted a price of about 25% of what my insurance company
is charging me now for my 1972. Very nearly the same coverage, based out of
Cherry Hill NJ, the NJ is almost enough to scare me off. ;-]
Yes, I'm...

wheel bearings by
ron
We have a 1978 corvette that we are replacing the rear wheel bearings.. The
question is : on the spindle shaft there is a ridge that the bearing should
pass over,is there a shim or spacer that goes between them? My haynes book
does not show the ridge.
Thanks
Ron

Rader detector by
yar
Hi I use an LRC10 laser jammer ( Ido not know if you have this model in the
US ), it needs to be placed as near to the front number plate, as possible
as this is where the police aim their radar guns.
On my newly acquired 2001 corvette it all seams to be one piece at the nose
end with no gaps to...

'04 speaker replacement by
TF
The same dealer that put a small hole in my rocker panel is going to replace
my speakers.
I'd rather not even let them see my car again, but they have to fix the
rocker and at same time they are going to replace two blown/crackly
speakers. (I actually think it's possible something is not hooked...

OT Political Joke by
Jim Fox
Subject: YOU A DEMOCRAT? OR REPUBLICAN?
"You a Democrat or Republican?" asked the old man.
"Republican," I replied.
"Well, you can just go to Hell," yelled the old man as he sped off.
Another guy stopped, rolled down the window, and asked me the

1987 Power antenae problem by
Luke Brennan
Last week I pulled into my garage and turned off my '87 coupe. The power
antenae motor was running, trying to put the antenae back down, but it was
not going down. I gave it a push, it went down, and the motor quit
running. I forgot about it until yesterday, when I started the car and...

Removable rear window ('84 up) by
Mark
I once saw in a magazine a company selling some kit that either allows the
hatch door to be removed or the window in the hatch door. For 1984 and up
models. It was a few years ago. As a convertible lover (but also needing a
little bit of storage space, I thought this was a great idea. Does...

C4 Trie Size change by
Black Bomb
Hi
I'm in the process of tire shopping & I came across a set of Pirelli's but
they don't make 275/40/17. They have them in 285/40/17 instead. I checked
the difference in calculations and it gives about 1.5 %. I was wondering if
this would be fine, or if any one of you's already did this type...

Frame repairs by
Bill Hearn
I've had to do major repairs to my frame. I have a 1980. Section of rear
crossmember replaced, on the rear bends right behind the doors bracketed up,
and body mount/door support that holds up the body totally replaced. I've a
good job done, but wondering how this will effect the re-sale.

Corvette prices in UK - why so high? by
Jim Hatfield
I'd be interested in comments by UK Corvette drivers on the seemingly
astronomical prices they go for. If you look at www.corvette.co.uk, in
the "list of cars" section, you see a 2003 Anniversary edition for
£35,995 - that would be $65,870 at the current exchange rate of $1.83.
Also, does anyone...

Fuel line 1978 Vette: by
Process45
I have to fix the fuel line on my "78" Vette. It appears as though I would have
to 1 remove the gas tank and 2 figure out how to get the new line in through
the frame. I am thinking of cutting the line back by the rear wheel well and
splicing a short piece of rubber fuel line to connect to my new...
