73 vw hood stuck by
[email protected]
Read all the messages about what to do to keep the hood from sticking
shut again but how do you get it open in the first place? The lever
releases in the summer time and sticks in the winter. I need to get it
open now. Any advice?
Thanks.

Convert a pre-1998 Beetle to electric drive by
Papa
That is, remove the air-cooled internal combustion engine and replace with
an electric drive motor, battery pack, charger, and associated controls.
Anybody ever done it? What were the results? Are there sources for
conversion kits?

identifying bug found in creek by

Someone dumped a bug in a local creek and we're trying to determine
ownership.
Is there any way to translate serial number to VIN number?
The VIN plate by the windshield is gone, but I found 2 identification
marks:
1) Under the front hood, right above "made in western germany" plate,
there is a...

Two Questions... by
Cujo3131
Hey gang....
First off, I have two questions... one simple... one a lil more
lengthy....
#1 On my 69 Beetle Baja, I notice that I have "defroster" lines on the
rear window...but for the life of me, I can not find any controls for
it... there does not appear to be a knob or switch on the...

As you may have read in my previous post, the engine in my 1303 is
suffering from knocking bearings, so is technically dead. As the car
is a daily driver, the quickest, and more importantly - the cheapest -
solution is to get a secondhand engine and swap them over.
The car in question is a...

how do you clean the engine exterior by
Rev Turd Fredericks
My "new" 71 super has a filthy engine. It has a layer of sooty grease
all over it. I see all these show VW's with clean engines so I figure
there must be a proper way to do it. I was wondering if anyone has any
recommendations as to how to clean it. Products to use, should I use a
