front suspension vibration by
John Tresadern
I have a 2001 156 1.8TS.
When cold, there is a nasty vibrating sound coming from the front
offside suspension around the area of the engine compartment bulkhead.
It seems to go away once you get going. What is the likely cause of
this - worn suspension bushes?
It seems to happen even when standing...

Interesting Discussion with a friend by
SteveH
'BMWs are more reliable than Alfas'
So, why is it that my brother had a new engine under warranty from BMW
for his 3-series (Nikasil bores didn't agree with unleaded petrol), a
knackered gearbox and totally fsked top end on his 5-series, when I can
abuse my 15 year old 75 with 120k miles on it...

Need Help by
Scott Chandler
Let me begin by explaining to you my request.
In September of 2003 I was diagnosed as having testicular cancer.
Having no insurance I decided I would just do
what i could to save myself. Long story short, I am
at this time cancer free, but $30,000 in debt.
I do not know where else to turn except to...

147 front air dam plastic strip by
Jake P
The black plastic strip under my 147's front air dam (the bit that hits all
the speed bumps) has become almost totally disconnected and is now only just
hanging on.
Anybody know what a dealer would charge to supply and fit a new one?
Cheers
Jake

Ruediger Barth
Hi all,

a used 147 with the 1.6 Eco engine, three years old and ca. 30000 km
on the clock.
Sometimes, after the travel, when the car is pretty warmed up, and I
want to stop it, I hear a noise that make's me thinking:

Service+MOT Suggestions for Rugby-area? by
Neil
My 3-year old 156 is up for it's first MOT and also needs a service.
Went to Poweralfa in Daventry last year for a 24000/24-month service
who charged me £300 for what largely amounted to an oil change and Jon
letting me use his modded 180hp (cor!) 145 for the day.
Despite this he is local and am...

Well, that's the wipers done by
SteveH
Finally got round to fitting the new wiper motor to the 155. What an
absolute pain in the arse job that was.
Quite tricky to set up so they don't hit the bonnet or fly off the
driver's side of the windscreen, too. And what were Alfa thinking of
with the controls? - only one speed plus a 3-setting...

156 2.5 V6 Spark plugs? by
[email protected]
Can anybody provide me with details on spark plugs required for the
156 2.5 V6? From what I could gather so far it looks like it takes
either the PFR6B (Platinum) or the BKR6EIX (Iridium) from NGK. Can
anyone confirm this or give me details on any other brands? What brand
is fitted as standard?

156 V6: a bit 'strangled'. by
Jacopo
Today, my 156 doesen't feel like other days: between 3500 and 5000 RPMs, the
engine is something like 'strangled', it has some hesitation in giving
power... finally, a momentary lapse of power. (Pink Floyd enthusiast will
understand me ;-)
Monday the light 'engine failure' came up, stayed turned on...
