Saturn VUE SES light and reduced power light on...after stalling by [email protected]
my wife had the following occur today: - she started car without problem and drove a couple miles without incident and came to a red light and stopped - upon light change she went to shift into first and released clutch too soon before gear engagement and caused car to stall - when she restarted...

2003 L200 Saturn Automatic - Is bottom right display light in dash for ATF? by khuxford
I bought a used 2003 L200 without a manual. I'm getting this display light that the meaning of doesn't just jump out at me. And has anyone had to change their transmission fluid on their own with this car? I was looking for a dipstick until I just found out on the 'net that this doesn't have...

Need help fast, spark plugs drenched in oil. by [email protected]
I have a 1991 Saturn SL Sedan 1.9L DOHC. I read a similar post about this but wasn't sure. I pulled out the number 1, 2, and 3 plugs and they were covered in oil, number 1 being the worst and the number 4 cylinder being completely dry. Could this be the valve cover gasket? I replaced the plugs...

advice on accident repair by Edwin Liu
I recently put my '94 SL2 (145K mi) into a ditch off a highway ramp (high speed + wet road). The bumper cover is smashed up, but otherwise the suspension and bottom of the front chassis bore the brunt of the damage. I put new (used) rims and one new tire on it to limp to a shop, but it was pretty...

How Bad Before the Rings Go? by Joe[_6_]
How bad does the engine oil burn get before a ring goes south beyond daily use? I've oil-fouled a plug once. It burns almost a quart per 1,000 miles on average - depending on if I'm traveling or commuting in traffic, etc. I'm trying to decide whether I keep it and drive as-is for a while, keep...

Punishing GM for killing electric car by Bret Ludwig
Wouldn't be that hard. The State of California could concoct some law whose real effect would be to punish GM for its perceived perfidy. When the Governator goes, it will become politically feasible.

1995 SL1 - Most Miles? by Joe[_6_]
Clutch is getting close to "fully extended" and I expect it to slip a bit. What's the mileage record on these engines (that notoriously eat oil)? I'm at 160,000 now and expect to either drop a few thousand $ into it or rid myself of it and go for another economical small car from a different...

'94 SL motor revving to high in drive even higher in neutral----SENSOR? by NoBeetles
Maybe someone can help me with this one. I think I had the same problem 2 1/2 years ago. Then it was winter and it would happen once the engine warmed up. Now, right at start up. At the light, the tach is at 1.5 If I shift it into neutral it jumps up to 2 and change, hovers for 2 or 3 seconds and...

2005 Saturn ION OBD2 requirements by Gary[_1_]
I would like to buy an OBD2 scanner for my 2005 ION QC 2.2l. There seems to be at least four types of OBD2 (ISO 9141, J1850 PWM, J1850 VPW, and CAN). Which one do I need. The cheap scanners do not cover all of the protocols and I do not want to buy one that does not do what I need.

Saturn Sky by P T
I first saw the Pontiac version over a year ago, at the Minneapolis Auto Show in March. This year both Pontiac and Saturn proudly displayed their versions at the auto show. I went to the Saturn dealer today to see it. They were very nice, offered to let me take a spin in one, but they said they...

Saturn Wagon by [email protected]
Anybody have a picture of the back seats folded down in a late-90's Saturn Wagon? Do they fold totally flat? Anybody tried sleeping in one? Enough room to stretch out, or cramped?

electric fans on hot days by dwight[_2_]
Our 1996 Saturn has 127K miles and we've had it since it was new. This year for the first time the electric fan -- twice this summer -- has remained on after the engine is shut down. Today it ran fo about three minutes in the garage. What causes this and why has it waited a decade before acting...

Saturn 1996 sc by ernie
There appears to be a broken spring in the tensioner. The drivebelt suddenly became loose and lost power steering and alt. and you can move the tensioner without effort. Is there a simple way to change the tensioner or is this a job for the shop? Ernie

Oil Independence Day 2006 by Linda
High gas prices have created a new group of people - "pump grumblers." When pumping our high priced gas, we grumble words of resentment, while feeling powerless. We need gas, so we pay the price. Standing as a individual we are powerless, but together our voices would be heard. America is a strong,...
