1974 Convertible w/68K Miles Value by
Vince Putman
I have owned a 1974 Corvette Convertible since 1976, and now as a certified
member of the OFC, I no longer need it to lure women -- got one! It
really has only 68k miles on it, and is a no frills plain unmodified machine
that runs great. It's not restored, just well taken care of and kept in...

fluid leak 95 by
Ken King
Any one have any ideas on a clear vicious fluid leak at the front of the
engine?
I've chased down the power steering lines and nothing appears to be leaking
or seeping.
The level of the power steering unit really hasn't dropped, added a little
to bring it up to the cold measurement.
I've...

Two questions by
CardsFan
First, injector cleaners. I've never used any, and reading here awhile back
several posters do. Does anyone have a favorite brand? There are lots of
options and they don't cost much, so if it's a waste of money at least it
isn't much money. Just looking for opinions.
Second, engine detailing. ...

1980 RPM's by
Jimmy Vette
I have a 1980 coupe with an auto transmission & 350 motor. I was
wondering what the RPM's should read on the tach when cruising at 60
MPH. My car is running at around 3200 which seems a bit high & my gas
milage is terrible. I was thinking it should drop down to around 2200.
Could this be a trans...

custom luggage for Vettes? by
Fred
Just wondering if anyone makes custom luggage bags for Corvettes. After
looking at `04 Vettes recently for the first time (coupes and verts), seems
that cargo space is tight. For coupes, you need to be able to store the
roof top (which might be wet or dirty) in the cargo area, placing it on...

Mixing brands on front and rear pads and rotors? by
[email protected]
1996 C4, street driving use:
It seems that it shouldn't make a difference if I use basic OEM
quality Brembo rotors in the back and Raybestos in the front - does
it?
Same for pads?
Would it make a difference if I used ceramic pads on front and
semi-metallic on the back tires?

Wheels for 86 vs 96 ZR1 by
Raymond Prince
The wheels on my 86 are 16 inch and tires are 255 50. If I bought the 17
inch ZR1 wheels, what size tires would I need to keep the speedometer
accurate? And will these ZR1 wheels even work on the 86 model without
rubbing the body or frame?
Thank You
R L Prince

C3 Convertible Cross Country: Security? by
frank
Hi,
Within the next few months I'll begin restoring my '71 ragtop. Eventually,
I'd like to take it cross country. However, I've been wondering about
security issues: have any of you had problems during long cruises? How do
you keep you valuables secure?
I don't have a luggage rack and, at...

C5 Questions by
Larry Wallerstein
I droppped my C6 spot and purchased a C5 built on 6/21. I've put the Corsa
Indy Pace Tigersharks on it, so far. Coupe.
I'd like to increase the horsepower to the C6 numbers, and I am told this
can be done with a Nightwing, or other front air induction change with K&N
and a "chip" for the...

2000 C5, 50k miles, 6-spd, transmission noise by
Alex J. Avriette
Hi, Folks. First time vette owner (since Friday). I am in the curious
situation of owning both a 280ZX Turbo and a C5 6-spd Vette. You may
know that the Z has a BW T5 in it, whereas my "blue car" has a T56.
That is to say I am accustomed to some transmission noise. In the Z, I
have some low-gear...

1st to 4th shift light? by
Fred
I just read about a "1st to 4th" shift light on the new Corvettes. It says
that when the light comes on, you must shift from 1st to 4th, then you can
downshift after that if you prefer. What's the deal with this? Is there a
way to disable it? The reason I order a manual transmission is because...
