Hi all... I'm working on a 1962 Eldorado and have a problem maybe someone here could answer. When I got the car, the speedometer cable was disconnected from the cluster. I reconnected it and of course it doesn't work. So I pulled the cable out and checked it while driving... not turning. I...

Hello, I am looking for a source for 1/2-12 (yes that's 12 threads per inch!) grade 8 hex head bolts in lengths of 2" and 5 1/4". Can anyone suggest a source for these? They are head bolts for 1928 and earlier Chevrolet 4-cylinder engines. Thanks!

Welding MGA Frame by Benj
I have just purchased a 1961 MGA MKII and I need to repair the rusted frame. I have done some arc welding in the past, but never on a car, nor one with positive ground (if that makes a difference). There is no battery in the car right now, so I don't have to worry about that. Do I need to remove...

Are classic cars discriminated against? by Rustler
I keep running into more and more problems getting service on things I can't do myself. It would be interesting to know if others run into this too. On the first visit, some places flatly refuse to accept customers who have older cars. Others keep coming up with excuses as to why they can't get to...

Differing Horsepower by RT500/ap
From year to year, horsepower differ in different engines. My 71 chevelle has a 307, 200hp Turbo-Fire. My friends 86 Dodge Ram model has a 318, with a four-bbl carb. He tells me that he has 400+hp. In order for that to happen, he must rebuild or install a new transmission for it to handle all the...

Southwind #781 Heater Inquiry by The Guy
I am seeking a manual for the above model vintage gas heater. Currently, I have three of the units and I am attempting to get two working units out of the three. A manual would be handy for adjusting the units when the bead blasting and painting is finished. Tim
