74 VW 1800 Bus burnt out exhaust valve. Now what? by
RichDownUnder
G'day folks,
I'm after some advice about my VW pop-top camper. So you know what I
actually have, I call it a 74 Kombi, a guy I know in the UK calls it a
'Bay Window' and a friend in New Jersey calls it a 'Microbus.' It has
the larger type rear lights and twin Solex carbies. I bought it
because I...

VW maintenance shops by
Mike West
This is just a general question to all of you about the shops in your area.
All of those in the Houston Area that I am aware of or have been to, don't
make you feel too at ease about leaving your car with them. All are a big
mess, junk everywhere, dark garage interior, junked partially disected...

hotVWs news stand price increase by
Randall Post
hotVWS has increased from $3.99 to $4.99 if bought at the news stand. Do you
think the lack of competition because of the demise of VW Trends had anything to
do with that? If you were to buy only four issues a year, you would be paying
the same as a 12 month mailed subscription (figuring sales...

Possibly found a very cheap paint stripper.. by
Remco
Not sure who here is on theSamba as well, so thought this is worth
repeating he
Purely by accident someone's wife on TheSamba stripped paint with this
"power dissolver" made by Dawn. The plus side is that there does not
seem to be much of a smell, takes very little quantity to do work,...

VW Beetle cooling by
[email protected]
Hi group,
I am looking to buy a beetle but am confused on whether what the owner
has done to the beetle is good or bad for it.
He has essentially capped off the Fan housing air outputs to the heat
vents. (I can send a picture) And also there is no hose from the
intake cleaner for preheated...

Kuebel Guy
Hi there
Little out of ideas trying to reach the upper left (driver's side)
engine-transaxle bolt.
Its that type without NUT (crankcase has a fixed round bolt). So its
meant to be reached from down under...but gosh...the bolt is so close
to the clutch lever...and there is the heat exchanger...

Fuel injected bug problem. by
R. Frist
My got my 78 Cabreolet out of winter storage the other day. It
started immediately and my grandson backed it out of the garage and
down a gently slopeing driveway. He then cut the engine to retrive
something from the house. After about 10 min it refused to restart and
it smelled like it was...

Bay Bus Diagonal Arm Bushings???? by
Busahaulic
I planned to replace the diagonal arm bushings on my '79 bus. I've been told
that it's very straightforward project - "just do it!" Figured I would have
trouble getting old bushings out and more trouble getting new ones in, but
don't want to completely remove the arms to do it. This means I will...
