American Car Makes by
Dave Lister
American auto makers can take apart and study in detail the
competitions' cars. They know exactly how the top sellers and reliable
cars are built, right down to the screws. They know how they perform on
their test tracks. They know what look is selling.
So why do they keep screwing up?

Passenger, Touring, Performance, etc., which tire is "best"? by
RPS
I am confused by tire classifications like passenger, touring,
performance, etc. Which one is 'best' for a 'normal' person---let us
say someone like me? :-)
(1) I drive about equally in city and highway.
(2) I live in an apt, with no room to store winter tires, so I do need
all-weathers.
(3) I...

Used Jetta OBD Failed by
[email protected]
I just bought a used VW Jetta without a warranty. My bad. I go to get
a state inspection and the dealer tells me the OBD system isn't
responding. Maybe he can fix it, maybe he can't. My question is if he
can't fix it, does anyone know if New York State has any leeway to
allow tailpipe testing...

Iowa City Police Ticket Man for Going 75 MPH Over Speed Limit
Friday, June 17, 2005, 8:44:36 PM
(Iowa City * KCRG) -- If you're driving five miles per hour over the
speed limit, you probably won't get a ticket. But 75 miles per hour
over the limit is a different matter.
Iowa City Police say...

BS or not BS? by
The Man Behind The Curtain (formerly The Lindbergh
My local oil changing shop is all in a dither. Why? Seems I'm overdue
for "Pure Power Plus," a treatment where they fill my gas tank with some
kind of Drano and clean the fuel injectors, blowing deposits, soot and
resident squatters out my tailpipe. My car is running fine. Should I

to get my license back, I have a vehicle, but apparently I need that
SR-22 insurance in able to get my driver's license back.
Here is where I am...

The oil companies earn billion dollars on our ignorance! We buy their
expensive petrol but they spend for that only cents! We just don?t know
that there is a simple and cheap technology of petrol producing at home.
It exists! And it has already been used by people all over the world.

Ford does it *again* (more fires) by
Daniel J. Stern
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/06/16/ford.vehicles/index.html
I'd say it's unbelievable, but it's not. Ford's got a long and, uh,
glowing track record of this kind of stupid ****. What's novel about this
one is the cause: this time it's not poorly-designed alternators or
poorly-designed ignition...

All of a sudden google is only showing a few posts for each day at RAD

I am a Southern California motorist who recently had an accident, but
have been warned by friends that if I make a claim, the insurance
company might scrutinize that I was somehow at fault, and may even try
to push to have points put on my license because it is my
responsibility to have control of...
