2005 Mariner off road capabilities? by
Vinny
Hello,
I'm in the market for a new car and I like the
2005 Mercury Mariner (dressed up Ford Escape).
Most of my driving will be on-road but I would
like to do some light off-roading, mostly driving
on the beach and loose sand covered trails.
No boulder bashing or real rough or steep trails,
I know...

Olds Bravada question????? by
Bob P
Hi,
I own a 2002 Olds Bravada SUV with SmartTrack. But my question is about the
air-leveling suspension. I live in a very cold climate and I have to keep
taking the car for maintenance (under warranty) as the car raises up and
then won't level back down. So the rear of the car always looks like it...

Need help with clutch clamp load by
[email protected]
Guys,
I am looking for a new clutch for my 4Runner ... I sourced out some
nice heavy duty kevlar clutches.
problem is. They have a clamp load of 2000 lbs. But the 4Runner can
only take 1600 lbs ... I was told if you exceed that load it will kill
the slave cylinder and crank bearings...
The guy...

Rattle in front right side of 1992 Toyota 4WD by
[email protected]
I've got a bit of a rattle on the front driver's side whenever I'm
riding over rough blacktop. The sound is intermittent and doesn't seem
to be affected by hitting large bumps in the road. There is no sound
when the road is smooth. I believe that my idler arm bushing needs
replacing. Could that...

major help needed by
emblie
My 96 Mazda B3000 is making a very odd noise. While I'm in motion, it
makes a sound like an airplane is passing overhead. Its loudest is when I
am going my fastest. When I come to a stop, the noise stops. Does anyone
have any idea what's wrong with my truck?

Advise please by
FatDog
I do not have much experience about cars.
I was wanting to buy a family car which has enough room for five,
expandable to seven with folding seats, preferably with good performance
on the road, and looks sporty, not like a people carrier.
Any suggestions for a suitable car?
Many thanks

92 4runner by
The Murrays
Anyone know where the relay is for power ant? I'm replacing it with a stick
& want to disconnect the relay. It sounds like it's way up in the
instrument cluster, almost in the steering column.
Thanks from Ontario

Front diff, locker or limited slip? by
[email protected]
It depends what vehicle and what purpose...
A front locker makes steering pretty hard and can more or less be only
used when needed on rock climbs and mud ..
A slip is more driveable but will only give you some traction to the
other wheel ..
If going for the locker make sure your axles will hold...

Auto Transmission Slips Only When Cold by
Marty
I have an automatic V6 1990 Toyota 4Runner with real high mileage. It
runs great except when cold. When I come to the first complete stop
after starting up in the morning, it slips into neutral for a couple of
seconds then back into gear. It's fine when warmed up. Any ideas? Thx.
