The Black Mustang Club's BumbleBee Cruise III, January 26, 2008. Gathered in Irvine, ended at Longshadow Ranch and Vineyard, near Temecula, after a run over Ortega Highway. Approximately 60 cars, 80 folks participated. I'm not much of a cruiser, but Ortega Highway is an American Motoring...

Why so little traffic on a Mustang Usenet group? by Frank S
I'm soliciting theories that would account for the differences between the amount of communication on the dozens of Internet forums and the very few Mustang-related Usenet groups. I have seen those forums, and I'm not really very impressed with the general caliber of correspondents. There are some...

steering noise by Fred
Hi I have a problem with the power steering on a 89 LX 5.0. You can feel a clunk while turning the wheel left ot right. I had it to the dealer but all they did was give me a brake job and tighten the wheel bearings. The problem remains.

Need Camshaft Recommendation for 65 2+2 with 289 by Fred of AZ
I have a 65 2+2 with a 289 and a toploader 4 speed. The rear end is the stock 8" with 2.70 gears. The car is going to the bodyshop and paint booth this year, and while it's there, I plan on doing some work on the motor. The car is sort of a daily driver...don't drive it EVERY day. I'd like to...

Water Pump Rebuild Kit for 289 by Fred of AZ
Hi: I've got a 65 2+2 with the aluminum water pump. I've searched around, but have been unable to find a rebuild kit for this particular pump, or instructions on how to take it apart and replace the seals, etc. I have already replaced with a rebuilt pump since it was leaking, but was not asked...

1965 Early Style Motor Mount Brackets Needed by Fred of AZ
Hi: I'm in search of the two "L" shaped brackets for a 65 Mustang with the 289 engine. They are the brackets between the steel/rubber insulators that bolt onto the engine, and the bracket housing which is mounted on the subframe at the bottom of the shocktower. If anyone has a location where I...

Painting Fiberglass by Fred of AZ
What is the best way to prep a piece of fiberglass that is already painted for a new, different color of paint? I'm talking about a fiberglass hood that I'd like to repaint. The paint on it already is in decent shape, so don't plan on stripping it all off. However, how should I prep the surgace...

Western Wheel hub cap needed by Fred V.
Hi I have an old set of Aluminum "Western Wheel" rims made by Rockwell International back then. I believe they came off a early 80's or late 70's mustang I had then. I use them for my snow tires. They are 150x390mm. I am missing one of the small hub caps that cover the 70mm center hole in the...

Check engine light on 89 LX 5.0 by Fred V.
Hi Lately my check engine light has been coming on for short periods. It comes on, then goes away, then comes on again. Otherwise the car runs fine. What could it be? I suppose I should see if any codes are being reported. Fred 89 LX 5.0
