Transmission Fluid Change?? by Gerry
What is the mileage interval for changing Transmission Fluid Have a 2003 Mustang, manual shift and was advised by the dealer today when in for 28000 mile oil change that it should be changed. They wanted $160 to flush it and another $60 to refill it.

93 LX w/2.3 question... by Gerry Pierce
Underneath looking today and saw the boot on the ball joint is all torn up.... thinking about just going ahead and replacing the ball joints. So, I am looking up the prices for the parts, and it lists lower ball joint and lower controll arm seperately. But, when I look up in the repair guides...

tranny question 93 LX 2.3 w/Auto by Gerry Pierce
Last night, pulled into a parking lot, up a slight hill and the engine bogged done much like a stick shift tranny that has not had the clutch pushed in. Put in neutral, idles fine. go back to D or R and it lugs down and stalls. Let it sit all night, it starts ok, put in gear and it slowly starts...

question concerning reading codes..... by Gerry Pierce
93LX with the 2.3 has intermittent CEL. Runs fine, good though. Does the light have to be on to read the code or does the computer store a history? Afriend has a reader, I just need to go borrow it (he has a T-bird of same vintage). Sorry about all the questions lately, bought the car for 700.00...

motor mounts by Gerry Pierce
I am needing new motor mounts for a 93 LX coupe w/2.3 and auto. Autozone lists the left only. Ford has 'em listed at about 120.00 each. Does anyone have an alternate source.... I can find all sorts of 5.0 mounts, 2.3's seem to be scarce. Thanks, Gerry

93 2.3L issues by Gerry Pierce
Put new plugs in the day before yesterday. Got done, car ran good for about 15-20 miles. Stopped for a minute to wait on my son, when I restarted, the idle was very rough. When you step on the gas, it is very sluggish and rough, then smooths out as the rpms climb above 1500. I went back,...

2.3 liter coil question by Gerry Pierce
For the plugs on the intake side, what is the order they are connected to the coil pack? My Haynes manual says one thing, but the car is connected with 2 and 3 backwards from what is says and has run quite well. The manual says 3,2,1,4 (starting at the back right corner and rotating clockwise as...

alternator belt replacement on 93 2.3L by Gerry Pierce
Just bought this 93 LX coupe with 132k. Runs great, needs a little TLC, mainly cleaning and such, but the alternator squeels wthe belt (smoke visible) when you first start the engine. Sometimes 1 sec, sometimes 10-15 sec's. I want to replace the belt, but have never dealt with automatic...

93 LX trunk.... by Gerry Pierce
I bought a 93 LX and the trunk spring is not installed (what I believe to be it is laying in the trunk) so the trunk will not stay open without being propped. Does someone have a very good description of how to install this or have a picture/pictures of how to do it? Or maybe just a pic of...

Oil company math by Get lost
Five years ago. Oil, $47/barrel. Premium gasoline, $0.559/litre. Today: Oil, $48/barrel. Premium gasoline, $0.909/litre. It's nice of them in this time of economic problems to really pitch in like this.

Oil companies, doing there part in the bad economy by Get lost
You know how when there is a drop in oil prices, the oil companies tell you, "It takes a couple months for the change to "trickle down" to the consumer level?" Well, the stock market rallied Thursday sending oil up about $6/ barrel. 6 HOURS later, the pump price rose almost $0.22 per gallon. Way...
