2004 A4 Avant installtion of class 1 trailer hitch by Mark Silverman
Has anyone experience w/ installion of the Dalan or Curtis hitches available on the web? Specifically, it appears the dual mufflers need to be removed. Removing the rear rubber hangers alone is insufficient to create access to drill into the tire well. What else needs to be released to obtain...

Hi all, I have a problem and I hope some of you might be able to give me some help. I have a 2001 A4 Quattro, 5 speed. It has 60K miles on it. In the last week or so I've noticed that there seems to be a humming type of noise coming from the right rear (I think...sometimes noise can...

UK A4 Cab. after market satnav - any experience? by Paul Peard
Just bought a 2004 A4 Cab, and my old PDA based satnav looks cheap in the car - anyone got any experience with 3rd party satnav+audio units - would like one that hooks to DIS system if possible - otherwise the top half of the dash display will never "do" anything. The car doesn't have remote...

original warranty - does it transfer to new owner by Art M
I'm thinking of buying a 2003 audi from a friend who is the original owner. It's still under warranty (I think it's a 4yr/48000 mile and 144 mo. for rust). Will this warranty still apply to me as the new owner? Thanks --Art

Guess What (follow-up)? by JP Roberts
(Follows on from "Guess What?".) Dealer asked me to take the car in so that I could have the steering rods replaced free of charge as no records showed this had been done under the original campaign. Boy, was I not in for a bigger surprise when after dropping the car there, I get a second call in...

Hello...new poster here, with (surprise!) a question! by Method Man Ray
I'm currently looking at a 1993 Audi 90s. It has some pretty significant problems, but the people are selling it for a ridiculous price so I'm terrifically tempted. First and biggest issue is both catalytic converters need to be replaced. From the research I've done, this seems to be a...

So much for EDL!! by JP Roberts
It so happened that as I got to the restaurant of my choice yesterday the car park was full and so I decided I would make full use of Quattro to park by driving up onto a slope (about 12% steep) with only the two right wheels onto a grass fringe (wet with hail from a recent storm) while keeping...

Difference b/w 2.8 and 2.6 AND replacing brake pads! by newbie
Hi everyone, sorry if this is a silly newbie question, but I'm experiencing a couple issues with my 1995 A6 2.6L FWD (and Right-hand drive). Recently the brake pad warning indicator came on, so I went looking for replacement front brake pads. All local (in Australia) autoparts places quoted...

A4 Oil Usage by dph
My wife has a 1999 A4 3.0 that seems to use a lot of oil. She relisiously follows servicing Audi recommendations but has found that between servicing she can be down as much as 2 qts. of oil. The Audi service rep said that is normal and not to worry. She is worried that this is excessive. Is it?

What makes Audi maintenance so expensive? by Joe
I recently saw an ad selling a 1998 A6 Quattro for $9500 but some members (and car reviews) suggested that it was very expensive to maintain. Is that because of the labor, or the parts themselves? Consumerguide.com says that changing shocks/struts costs $1600 (and brakes for $745). Is that due to...
