Hi, I bought a 156 2.4 JTD about a year ago & found the clutch very sensitive. It is very difficult to make a smooth takeoff from standstill & going from 1'st to 2'nd is not smooth either. While under guarantee I complained & Alpha said it was the design , did something which seemed to make it...

New 156 - poor gearchange. by Martin
Hi, I have a new (2004, 175BHP) 156 2.4 JTD SW (6 speed). The gearchange seems particularly bad - I'm sure the one I test drove was OK. Basically, it is very "notchy", not fluid at all. It "seems" to be worse when cold (less than 10 miles), and when the weather is cooler. Every gear appears...

Alfa Milano Cam Timing by Dev Cloete
Hi, A cambelt tensioner pulley broke on a 16V Milano and fortunately no valves were bent. However the cams jumped a few teeth and having made new Alumininium pulleys and having fitted new belts, I would like to get confirmation on the cam timing marks. The inlet and exhaust have marks on them that...

Best year(s) for V6 Alfa75? by JB
I'm going to be using an Alfa75 V6 as a donor for a trike project in the very near future and I need some advice as to which is the best V6 used in the 75 and what would be the best year to look for and any particular version of the engine to avoid. A rotten, crashed, or MOT failure vehicle will be...

Alloy Wheels by Tom Boltwood
I've just come into some 164 3.0 Super alloys. However, my TSpark is 4 stud and the 3.0 was 5 Stud. Stupidly, I assumed that 164s would all have the same wheel fixings. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to wheels, so can anyone tell me: a) why they have different stud patterns on these...

GT by SteveO
As a regular owner of VW's, Audis and Mercs i really do appreciate reliability. I have never owned an ALfa before but have heard the unreliable stories. However, the 1.9 Diesel GT looks an outstanding car. Has anyone got experience of this yet or is it too new? Looking to change my VW Golf 1.9TDi...

Another Rear Bumper 156 by CGB
I've recently had a mild shunt from behind. The damage *seems* superficial - a small chip & a nice faint imprint of the offending bumper. If the inside of the boot looks OK, and the boot still opens & shuts as it did before, is that all I need to look for? Is there compressable foam that means the...

155 Manual - Taken Down due to insane demand! by SteveH
Unfortunately, I'm no longer in a position to host this..... my bandwidth has been caned in a big way by the large number of requests I've had for it. If anyone is in the position to host a fairly high-traffic 650mb download give me a shout. Cheers, --

Replacent Dash Lights by Mr Flipflops
Hey guys Just got me a nice new (to me) 2000 X 156 2.5 V6. Anyway, it's pretty much a peach FASH example except for a warped rear disc and the rear fog dashboard indicator not working, is it a dash out job? Expensive? I ask as I happened to ask the dealer how much a brake disc was for the back...
