Clutch pedal hard to press in hot weather (Alfa 156) by
Steven Spits
Hi group,
This is a problem my Alfa 156 2.4 JTD (2002) has had for a long time.
Sometimes it is very hard to press the pedal all the way to the floor, and
sometimes it goes very smooth. Like I said, it has been this way a long
time, and it's doesn't seem to harm the car. But it's annoying...

156 problems filling up the petrol? by
fmt
Being a new owner of a 156 I'm starting to learn all the delights of
owning and driving an Italian car, but one thing that's really bugging
me at the moment is as regards putting petrol in the car.
I've tried at 5 different fuel stations, but everytime the same thing
happens.
Nozzle goes in, fuel...

'uneven' acceleration by
NC
All,
I am fairly new to the Alfa world - bought my first used 156 1.8 petrol
(t reg - 1999) about 3 weeks ago.
A strange thing I have noticed however, is the uneven acceleration I get
in 2nd. If I move off, up into 2nd and then floor it (or even just get a
little enthusiastic with the throttle),...

Alfa 164 Electric Window problem by
Emjay
Hello folks,
Thought I'd ask the audience for some advice before I leap in with my
screwdriver !
Both front windows on our Alfa 164 (2.0TS) intermittently stop
working. The nearside blows the 30A fuse occasionally, and the
offside window wont move (or gets stuck).
You can here a small relay...

156 V6 spark plugs by
Ppelectron
I'm just wondering how easy it is to remove the spark plugs on a 156 V6? I
gather you have to remove part of the engine to gain access but it's not
obvious which part from looking at it. Has anyone done this? It has been a
simple job on my other cars, but the Alfa is in a different league!

Strathmore Vincent
Dear Reader,
The subject says most of it. About 18 months ago I bought a 164 Super
and have been running it with no problems at all, until last week when
the gearbox gave way and all it's fluid ended up on the road via the
bell housing! I have been quoted £400 to fix it (mostly labour to get

Hi All,
I've just had my 156 Sportswagon 36K service carried out and it appears that

The gave me a litre of Magnatec oil with disposable gloves, hand...

Giulietta is purring again :) by
Gordon
Apparently my problems to get her started was due to two problems:
- not enough power from the battery
- not enough fuel
Right now I need to pull the choke to get her started which I never
needed to do before. Think I found the problem though: the lever for
the acceleration pump on 1/2 is...
