I bought a DriveRight Carchip e/x by Lawrence Glickman
WAY way cool. get the e/x model ( advanced ) and see your engine parameters on your computer as they were recorded over up to 300 hours ! I have my sampling rate set to once per 5 seconds, so I'm not using 300 hours of driving, with a sample once/minute. So far, looking Good.

Headlight Abuse by ZARTOGG2
Much of what you are seeing is the result of an illegal interstate criminal conspiracy called "extremist group gang stalking." The stalking part is an old KKK practice used to intimidate Blacks and others who were/are sympathetic. Extremist groups call it "brighting." See:...

Timing Gear Problem by [email protected]
I have a 97 F-150 with a 4.2L V-6, and about a year ago I had to have the engine rebuilt. ( I have subsequently been told by various people that the shop that did my overhaul has a reputation for shoddy work.) Anyhow, there was a 20,000 mile warranty and after about 25,000 miles the rebuilt engine...

Follow-up: 2000 Contour miss and Check Engine Light by Craig Williams
A couple of weeks ago, I posted the below, and got a couple of suggestions. I put the original spark plug back in cylinder 1, checked under the hood in the dark, disconnected the battery cable so the computer would re-learn the car, etc. but the miss is still there. It is intermittent, though, and...

1990 Pontiac Grand Prix No Hi-beam problem by Joe Phillips
The hi-beams on my son's car have quit working and I am puzzled. With the ignition switch on and the headlights on, the hi-beams will not come on. However, with the ignition off and headlights off, you can pull on the switch and the hi-beams will come on. You used to hear a click when you pulled...

Change oil ever *10,000* miles on my 2001 Audi A6??? by AudiBuyer
Just bought this beautiful used Audi A6. I love it!!! I was surprised to read in the manual, though, that they recommend oil changes every 10,000 miles. I am so used to doing it every 3000 miles. Curious what people's thoughts are. Also, I recall a great website regarding all things motor oil. ...

2002 Caravan Front End Rattle by [email protected]
I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan 3.3 liter V6. It is making a rattling noise that sounds like loose brake calipers. So, I had my brother put on new brake pads on the front and asked him to see if he could find out what was making the noise. He says it is in the rack and pinion steering. Is there a...

I have a 96 Sentra with a 1.6 liter engine with 120k miles. Recently, I have had an overheating problem. It occurred on a trip to Florida (from Texas). I handled it on the trip by turning on the interior heater. Fortunately, it was pretty cool outside and the heat on the inside was...

2000 Jimmy -- Stearing sluggish in 4 wheel drive by [email protected]
I have bought a used GMC Jimmy. I've noticed that the steering is very sluggish when I put it in 4-wheel-drive and the wheels don't coast freely, especially when turning sharply. This is the first 4X4 I have ever owned. Is this normal? I took it back to the dealer in the 30-day warranty period....

Questions - Chevy Astro O2 Sensor by Z.Z.
My 98 Chevy Astro is showing the Service Engine Soon light and the scanner shows code P0152 - Hi Voltage on O2 sensor, Bank 2, Sensor 1. I assume replacement is about the only option. Some questions: 1. I'm told that's the sensor on the passenger side before (upstream of) the cat. Is that...

OBD emission test question by LenS
I took my 1997 Mazda Protege in for its Illinois periodic emission test last week. Happily, it passed, but I have a question about the test itself. Beginning now, Illinois is checking the OBD in all vehicles manufactured in 1996 and later INSTEAD of the exhaust test for hydrocarbons and...

Salvage Registration by [email protected]
Hi all, I just recently purchase a car from a salvage auction. They did not give me any plates or tags. I noticed to register the car you must get a smog, brake and lamp inspection, and CHP inspection. Is there anything I can get as a temporary moving permit to get these tasks done? ...

Front brakes not releasing by Rich
My front brakes on my Ford Grenada have begun to stick. Cracking the bleeder valves on each relieves the tension on each, and since it's happened to both sides at the same time, I don't think it's a caliper piston sticking, and it would seem odd that both rubber lines would fail at the same...

How to lower a 68 Mustang by Chris Bergquist
Any recommendation on the best way to lower a 68 Mustang? I tried installing springs that were advertised to lower the car 1" and improve the handling. All they accomplished was to make the ride a lot stiffer and they didn't lower the car at all. I'm looking for a 1" drop. Chris
