2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 Engine stalling by
James[_1_]
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.7 liter engine. 205,000 miles.
Engine has been literally perfect until last six months or so.
In the last week, engine has stalled three times, at very slow idle, or very
low speed. I have NO problems starting the engine. Today, while
traveling

Johson Valley ORV area vs Twentynine Palms expansion by
DougW[_2_]
There is an online petition to save the ORV area from being
adsorbed by the Marine base. Now I'm for a strong defense
but there has to be a way to co-exist and keep this area
from being lost to the off-roading community.

90,000 mile inspection on a 2001 GC by
Larry[_21_]
Just had a 90,000 mile inspection on my 2001 GC. Everything checked
out OK, but what really pleasantly surprised me was the brakes still
had over 80% of brake pad remaining. In the past only the front brake
pads were replaced at 30,000 miles because of the warped rotor
problem. So at 90,000 miles...

restoring '65 CJ-5: advice on wiper repair, parts sources, by
NoSpam
Hello folks. I'm a newbie here, so please forgive any breach of
custom.
I'm in the midst of restoring my old '65 CJ-5. I bought it used
in '68, drove it through high-school and college then put it up
on blocks in my parent's garage in '82. It spent 25+ years in
that dry garage in Calif and...

heater core, remove from cooling loop? by
FragSinatra
If a heater core is leaking, is it possible to just somehow bypass the
entire heater core in the cooling loop? I don't really need a heater
core in Southern California and it isn't worth the trouble to R&R it.

05 JGC V6 OXY Sensor location(s)? by
BobMCT
Quick one for you mechanics. On an 05 laredo with the V6 I'm seeing a
DTC of P0132 regarding the O2S reading of high.
I can only find one sensor. Where are the TWO located on this
monster?
I get this code in conjunction with a P0300 which itself carries a lot
of potential causes. Anyone care to...

Thinking about a drivetrain swap by
Budd Cochran[_2_]
Donor vehicle: 89 XJ Limited (4.0, Asin 4 speed auto, NP242, 3.55 axles)

shocking by

Looks like I need new shocks. The old
Edelbrock IAS ones lasted quite a long time
but nothing lasts forever.
Looking at the Bilstein HD or possibly
Rancho RS 5000
Any thoughts?

'91' XJ: Coolant smell on startup by
FragSinatra
I get a distinct odor of coolant whenever I startup my '91' XJ. I haven't
noticed any leaking coolant anywhere (there are no puddles of coolant).
It looks like there may be leakage from the thermostat area because there
are some deposits there. Whatever it is, it's a slow leak, I just hope it's...

Odd Transfer Case sound by
[email protected]
Sounds like a half a handful of BB's in my hubcaps. It's a light
clinking and clattering sound. But it's coming from inside my
transfer case. It starts up at about 3-4 mph and gets faster as the
mph picks up in both forward and reverse, in 2wd and 4wd.
There is no other symptom besides the...

Offset ball joint by
Larry[_21_]
Took the 01 GC, with 90,000 miles, to a local garage for an alignment
and there was a small problem correcting the camber reading. The
mechanic recommended that I eventually might want to consider install
an offset ball joint permitting a more correct adjustment of the
camber.
The quote I got was...

Hood lift question by
DP[_2_]
Greetings:
I'm the new owner of a used 1999 GC LTD. I took it home yesterday,
opened the hood and couldn't find a way for it to stay open! There is
no prop rod. Thinking maybe it had a detent in the lift mechanism, I
pushed it a bit past where I probably should have and one of the lift
shocks...

4WD shifting by

Greetings:
Thus far, this group is exactly what this first time Jeep owner
needs!
I have a new question:
The dealer wasn't real clear on the proper way to shift from "4 All
Time" to 4-LO in my '99 GC Ltd with Quadra-Trak II. What I got from
him was to STOP, put trans in neutral and shift into LO...

the regular BS about how it's not broken in yet at 3500 miles. The
diagnostic showed all OK. Sticker says 15 and 22. I'm getting 10 and
