C5 Temp and thermostat question by Blue C5[_2_]
My 2000 C5 has always run at 196. In stop and go in the summer it can hit 225. If you turn on the AC, the fans bring the temp down. Learned that with my C4. My C2 would just boil over.

Looking for a tire recommendation by David LaRue[_2_]
Hello, I don't know if anyone still checks out this group, but I thought it might bring people out of the woodwork. I have a 1982 Corvette that is getting ready for new tires. The old ones are from the last batch of Eagle GT IIs that were available in this area (SE Florida, USA). It had...

C5 Temp and thermostat question by [email protected]
At what temp is my C5 (99) starting to overheat, I start panicking at 220 she usually runs at 215? I'm talking coolant temp not oil.I live in Dallas and in stopped traffic a lot! I've almost pulled to the side many time to let her cool but that is not always an option. I turn the heater on to cool...

Identification of General Motors V8 small block engines. by George[_17_]
When I was working in the Middle East I bought 2 Corvettes and as I had contacts with a car breakers Yard and they could not pay me for work I did, several times they took old Chevrolet small block engines out of abandoned or rear damaged cars for me and as I had free shipping too. I sent several...

1992 Corvette warm/hot start problem by [email protected]
My '92 won't start for a few minutes if the engine is hot/warm. Starter, solenoid, battery all good. Replaced distributor, plugs, wires, coil, injectors, fuel pump and fuel filter. Bought a fuel pressure regulator and that will be next. When attempting to start, it sometimes will sort of cough like...

Most Big Suv/Truck owners deserve what they're they're paying at thegas pump by Sal
They always shine their lights into cars rear view mirrors, they always block other people's view and cause accidents in parking lots even when they're parked with nobody in them. SUVs and Trucks aren't any safer than cars as death rates and crash tests prove, SUVs and Trucks are only good at...

I dont get the c3 vs c4 values by Ralph
I am not complaining. I just do not get it. I have a c4 ,my second. I love the body of a 1980-82 c3. But I do not see how my car is on ebay and bidding around 17-18grand with 19000 documented miles and you have automatic late c3 cars for 15 grand. Aside from being more difficult to get in, I...

Reality check by Bob Buchanan
I now have the time and enough cash to pursue a long held wish of owning, driving, and working on a Corvette . but I need a reality check. The plan is to buy an over-the-hill Corvette and go to work on it. Among the things I would expect to do a repaint, rebuild the engine and transmission,...

Good GM/Bad GM by Comments4u
Recent Obama Administration statements indicate a willingness to try to save some of GM, but not all of it, an obvious solution for a company so buried in debt, bad products, obsolete factories, and legacy costs that aid for the whole would mean subsidies to the end of time. The bad parts would...

Trickle Charging a C7 battery by Smarty
Having owned C5 and C6 convertibles which have been stored for the winter, I have become accustomed to using a trickle charger directly connected to the battery for many years. The rest of the car has been disconnected and only the trickle charger has been connected to the battery. The new C7...

DAWN, clean to a fault. by Dad[_1_]
