Honda Accord EX V4 vs. V6 -- pros and cons? by [email protected]
I have owned 2 v6's, both coupes. A 2008 standard shift and a 2015 automatic which I currently drive. I have test driven the 4 cylinders. The latter are good cars but the 6 Accord engine is exceptional. The car is smoother than the 4,quieter and if you like oomph the extra 100 odd hp make a huge...

honda s600 chain final drive? but why? by z[_1_]
turns out the old Honda s600 little sporty cars had a differential and half shafts in the rear, but then little sealed chain drives from the end of the half shaft to the rear wheel on either side. ???? just to reduce unsprung weight?? only reason i can think of.

SPOILER--again, don't read by Elmo P. Shagnasty
So all that talk about Sandra being evil, and Sandra acknowledging her strategy to everyone ("anyone but me, I'm da queen")...why the focus on eliminating physical strength? Sandra's strategy is very strong, and even worse: the longer it goes on, the stronger she gets. I'd rather leave a...

Honda Civic 1999, P0135, Oxygen Sensor Change, D16Y7 --- The Story.... by hobbes
Keywords: Honda Civic LX 1999 D16Y7 Oxygen Sensor P0135 ODBII Holly smokes! Panic! The Check Engine light is on. First time that happened, pulled into a petrol station and put in more oil. That did not solve the problem and made no difference. That was about a year ago. Since then I have learned...

Honda CRV 2001 Creaky suspension by [email protected]
My front suspension on the LHS side now creaks like mad on every bump. I've changed the roll bar UJ link which made no difference. So choice is change the entire shock absorber or replace the suspension swing arm bearings. Trouble is I can't decide which one. Those of you that have had this...

No pressure on clutch pedal - can't change gear by Al Reynolds
Hi, I've just gone out to my 97 Honda Accord and there is no pressure on my clutch pedal. If I push it down, it goes all the way to the floor, and if I then lift it a little the spring causes it to come back up. Initially there was a little bit of pressure bringing it back up, but now there's...

Honda Accord 2000 -- Bearing replacement question by SadaYama[_2_]
2000-Accord-4DR-EX with ~105,000 miles. The car when driving above 35 mph, a strange noise comes from the right rear; on highway it is even louder at 65mph. Anyway the mechanic diagnosed it as 'bearing' problem for the right rear wheel. He quoted $350 for replacement part and labor. He wants to...

2005 Honda Odyssey Door Lock Issue by Karl Kingston
My wife just mentioned this (and I have seen it happen before). We usually lock the doors using the lock/unlock switches on the doors (and the drivers side door button). This usually works well, and locks the van. The problem we're noticing is that when using the lock/unlock (and sometimes the...

Replacing Battery by Wade Garrett
I need to replace the battery on a 2010 CR-V but don't have one of those electronics "settings keepers". I don't mind resetting the radio code and presets-- but will anything else get wiped if I disconnect the old battery without keeping power. If it will, will any damage be done that just...

1990 Honda Accord Idle fluctuation by [email protected]
My 1990 Honda Accord 2.2L started to have idle fluctuations yesterday. The RPM will fluctuate between 1700 and 1000 RPMs when the car is stopped. The fluctuations don't seem to be noticeable when the car is in gear. What would cause this? I searched for vacuum leaks but couldn't find anything. I...
