Bunch of Questions to come by Ephar
Hey Guys, (especially Leon, Iva & Lanny) Nice to see you're all still here. I've got a bunch of questions to ask and would like your input (more than just 'look it up.') Mostly I'd like to rekindle old friendships. Ephar & Bambi The Original Winkin' Miata

Headlights do/don't pop up and tires. by XS11E[_3_]
I'll do this in reverse order, the rear tires on my Miata are Falken ZIEX 185x60R14s and were on the car when I got it. I can recommend them for great fun and driving enjoyment as I found during a recent rain that the wet weather traction is ZERO, ZILCH, NADA! If you enjoy going down the road...

Air conditioner drain by Roland Smith
I just got a phone call from a friend who says his '94 miata periodically dumps about a quart or so of water on the passenger's feet whenever the air conditioner is run for an hour or so. Anyone know where to look or what to check for this problem? Thanks, Roland

Power Steering Fluid by James Sleeman
Hi all, can somebody tell me what the recommended fluid for the PS on a '91 is? Google isn't being helpful on this strangely, you'd have throught there'd be a mention of it out there somewhere. Unfortunately my Enthusiasts Shop Manual met an untimely end after getting well and truely wet.

Water Leak Passenger Side Interior Under Glove Compartment by Gary[_3_]
Inside my 1991 Miata, the water literally pours onto the rug on the passenger side when the A/C is on. I turn off the A/C and no water problem. Should I assume that the hose has become loose inside and to get it from the interior? Also, should I dismantle the glove compartment. I see two screws at...

How noisy? by P T
I'm toying with the idea of getting a second car: perhaps a used Miata. One thing that worries me is how noisy they are (or are not.) Years of driving motorcycle has left me with tinnitus and hypersensitive to noise. How noisy is a Miata? On the hwy with the top down? With the top up? And how...

Trip report by miker
Just got back from a trip to Yellowstone in my '96. Lemme tell ya, the roads in the park are perfect Miata country! Mind, I'm not an auto-crosser, what I like is curvy up-n-down cruising and with Yellowstones scenery this is perfection. I came over Beartooth pass to the NE entrance and spent...

Mazdaspeed versions - extra garage work needed or just fine? by Bruno
I'm toying a little bit with the idea of some day replacing my 1999 NB with a 2004/2005 Mazdaspeed version but since they aren't sold here in Europe it's a bit of a project :-) But how is it to share the life with a Mazdaspeed version? Is the Turbo and intercooler and more making life...

Solstice is huge by Scott Streeter[_4_]
I have not seen one of these up close until today when one was in the work parking lot. It's huge compared to my NB. The 18" wheels didn't help either. It's a good looking car in itself but I thought this was suppost to be a Miata competitor...? Top sucks too. :P --

Cup holder - looking for alternative for an NB by Bruno
Of course there are all ready two cup holders in the small box between the seats but since I'm a large guy it's sort of where my arm needs to be when shifting. I have seen pictures where there is some sort of cup holder placed to the right of the gear shift but where can I get one or possible...

Good Miata mechanic in Los Angeles by Roland Smith
My forced-induction '90 miata is in need of some trouble shooting. Does anyone in the LA area have a mechanic they can recommend? Thanks, Roland -- I do not speak for NASA and NASA does not speat for me!

Roll Bars??? by Jazz_Azz
How many of you have had roll bars installed??? I always have thought it strange that they weren't/aren't required. mine is a 2000 Miata MX-5. I have always told my Wife that if we get into a roll over wreck, try to get your head down as low as possible :-).

Little red light by opeltodd
I was just wondering if any of you have a little red light on the top of the steering column just in front of the gauges and if so, what's it for? I'm new to the group and I haven't seen that many Miatas up close and personal but I don't think I've seen any others with this light. Maybe an alarm...
