Bought it.... by
Steve H[_2_]
It's a TSpark Veloce 2 Sillyspeed.
No idea where it came from - but it's not Japan, I suspect Thailand or
Malaysia from the writing in the manuals....
Anyway, 9.7k miles, 1 owner from new, not yet 2 years old.
I'm buying my own warranty and giving it to my local guy for a cambelt
and oil...

Cambelts and stuff by
SteveH
OK, now, suppose I were to purchase a 156 JTS Selespeed.
And suppose said vehicle is obviously a 2004 model, or maybe earlier,
but registered on a 56 plate and had only done 9,700 miles.....
Would you change the cambelt ASAP? - even though, technically, it
wouldn't be due until next year, even on...

Would you? by

Brand new, but import, with Sillyspeed.
I'd love a GT, but really need something without a clutch pedal, but
I'll be putting 100k miles on it over the next 3 years....

Alfa 147 rattle / grinding by
Jonaso
Hi all....
I am at my wits end with my 147. What happens is that when I drive and the revs hit around 3000rpm.... a loud noise seems to come from under the bonnet somewhere. Difficult to explain this noise as it is not a rattle as such but sounds more like metal grinding or touching metal..almost...

147 Selespeed Gear Fault by
PatWarne1235
Help - have a 2001 147 Selespeed.
Recently it has taken to changing gear on it's own.
Sympoms:
- At low speed or while stationary, the gear selector display
flashes. As soon as you try to drive off, the car changes up to 2nd
on it's own,and then attempts to cycle up through the gears - I see...

156 1.8 TS CF3 Engine - Exhaust Manifold help needed by
Alan Rogers
Hi All
At the last service I asked my man to sort out the manifold heatsheild,
'twas rattling. He had to remove the shield and weld a bracket back on,
when I picked it up he advised that 2 of the 3 manfold bolts were sheared -
brilliant!
However, having a look I'm not so sure. Here's how to...

Anyone own a 166 3lt? by
SteveH
Especially a Q-Tronic.
Just wondering what the *real life* MPG is on them.
Really tempted to get a cheap-ish one as a company car, and my benchmark
for an 'acceptable' car, in terms of economy, is an A4 Cabrio 2.4 V6
Auto.
If it's close to that, then I might just be able to pull this one
off.....

Alfa 166 - Drivers door lock has jammed locked by
Tall Dave
Guys,
A couple of weeks ago the central locking on the drivers door stopped
working so I had to lock/unlock the drivers door using the key in the
traditional manner.
Lets say on Tuesday night I locked the car up, manually, no problem but when
I came to unlock the door on Wednesday I discovered...

The Alfa Went To Ireland by
Zathras
Just back from a 10 day overseas trip to Donegal in the Alfa - which
is a rare breed there!
Out on the western coast there were a few roads that were no-go for
the Alfa due (in the main) to adverse camber though settlement was
also an issue on the peat bogs. The Garmin satnav was...
