side airbag. they want £90 for the part and £97 to fit it
I've read on some sites that the problem can sometimes be solved by
lubricating the ring or resitting it - anyone...

Automatic Locks by
[email protected]
I purchased a 2000 Passat Wagen froma non VW dealer. The door locks
engage at 10mph. The local VW dealer states they cannot turn this
function off for safety reasons. Is this true?. If not, how in the
world do you stop this annoying feature.

78 VW Rabbit Diesel TIming Belt/Injector Timing Question by
JH
I installed a rebuilt cylinder head, cylinder head gasket, timing belt,
and tensioner on my 78 VW Diesel Rabbit.
The car now idles, but does not have power, and stalls when
accelerating.
I double-checked the torque on the cylinder head bolts and belt timing
- cam lines up using the special VW...

WTB '92 Cabriolet...any gotchas? by
Lamprey
Hi everybody,
Since an old man in an '87 Caddy rear-ended and destroyed my beloved '92
Jetta, I'm in the market for another car. There are a couple of '92
Cabriolets for sale here in Winnipeg right now, they look interesting.
Never had a convertible before. Anything I should know to look...

Lower control arm ball joint - just how dangerous is putting off this repair? by
Keith Loyd
Howdy,
For maybe the last 20k miles, my Jetta ('97 TDI 5 sp manual, 180k miles) has
made a little more jiggling noise when the left tire hits a bump than the
right. For the last few months, I have noticed a quiet ticking clicking
sound when taking off in 1st gear. I have no objections to a few...

Performing a Coolant Pressure Check on an '84 Diesel Rabbit by
Bryan K. Walton
I've got an '84 diesel Rabbit. The radiator doesn't have a cap on it.
The expansion tank is where you fill/top off the coolant. Now, I've
got a small coolant leak that I need to track down. I just had the
head gasket replaced in January, so I'm pretty confident that the
source of my coolant leak...

78 VW Rabbit Diesel 1.5 Fuel Injector Timing Question by
JH
I recently replaced the cylinder head, head gasket, timing belt,
injector heat shields, timing belt, and tensioner on my 78 VW Rabbit
Diesel. The car will start and idle, but has no torque, and lots of
blue smoke, and dies when I pull the injector advance knob. I
concluded that now that a new...

E-85 is cheaper here in Minnesota. How much do I ricchen my 82 rabbit
PU without EGR or O2 stuff to run it?
BTW, I think that ethanol is a terrible solution to energy problems,
almost a smokescreen. It requires a sht ton of energy to cook and
distill the stuff. But I would like to try it. I...
