Cost of a 1.6L long block by BillBetts
Just got a quote from a San Jose, CA dealer for $3,900 for the factory rebuilt long block. $1,500 for labor. Four years ago, I did the same thing. Factory long block replacement for $2,700 parts and labor. Seems like I'm getting ripped off. Anybody done this recently? What did it cost?

Charge light? by XS11E
My "charge" light doesn't come on, I checked the bulb and checked the diode on the instrument light circuit board (w/o removing the printed circuit) and all is OK. I know the alternator is working by the simple test, start car, turn on headlights, rev up engine. When the engine revs up the lights...

92 miata...won't stop by spyee68
Hi, I've got a 92 Miata and it's new for me and this is the first winter I've been driving it. I noticed recently that when I step on the brakes the car lunges forward. I almost hit the car in front of me yesterday! The Miata lunged forward and I stepped on the brakes harder but the car...

'93 Miata -- shutting off alarm? by jds
Hi. First time posting here. Howdy everyone. Bought a '93 Miata early last summer, with 124K miles. It's been sweet, the greatest car ever, in fact. I garage-parked her (unheated) at the end of October, and had her out in early December for a 15 minute reminder of summer, and again tonight. When...

For Sale: Bridgestone Turanza ER30 205/45/16 by Carol
I have three Bridgestone Turanza ER30 205/45/16 tires that I no longer need. They have 8800 street miles on them. One has a tiny nail in it. The nail has been there for over a year and the tire has never lost air. These are the factory supplied tires. I destroyed one (the missing 4th!) and was...

NB air bag by Chris D'Agnolo
Guys, (and gals of course) I'm wondering how much it might cost to purchase the drivers side air bag for a NB. Also, how few and far between they might be to come along. I love the Nardi NB steering wheel, have the opportunity to purchase one very reasonable but w/o the air bag. Help! Chris

96 M Edition Alarm by Keith Monteith
My '96 M's OEM alarm is now inop (no keyless entry, alarm, headlights) with a rapidly flashing LED on the steering column switchbox. I've read on other sites that this is probably due to frying the control box when I installed a new battery, but none of them tell me where to find the controller. ...

Back in the saddle again! by tom4416
Some of you may remember my saga about defecting from Miata to a C6 Corvette (the ultimate sports car, right?). Well, the Corvette was a General Motors quality control nightmare - nuff said. I've owned a 91 base, a 92 B package, a 95M edition w/supercharger (should have NEVEr sold that one!). ...

Wheel weight? by Christopher Muto
I am looking for a new set of wheels and tires for my '95 and can't find any OEM one locally for a reasonable price. I don't really care if they are 14" or 15" and am planning on putting Falken Ziex's on them or perhaps Bridgestone Traction TA's... Meaning that I am not looking to the ultimate in...

1991 Roadster Headlamps stay up by Debaser
I just got this as a second car but am tempted to get rid of my other car and just keep this now! The only problem I have after fixing an electric wondow issue is the headlamps. They dont always go down after I switch the lights off. Sometime they do, sometimes they dont. I also need to press the...

Remote start for standard transmission? by Grant Edwards
Now that I'm heading into my first Minnesota winter in a long time without heated parking, I've been getting a bit jealous of people with remote starters. I know I should just tough it out, but that aluminum shift knob gets pretty cold and I hate wearing gloves while driving. All of the remote...
