Adapting mismatched fuel gauge and sending unit by Charles[_3_]
Is there any possible way to make a little circuit to adapt a fuel gauge to a sending unit with the wrong ohm range? Specifically, I want to use a particular fuel guage that expects a 30-240 ohm range, and my existing sending unit is 10-73. This is a factor of 3 across the range (close enough),...

Tips on diagnosing electrical/ignition issues? by Doc
I've fooled with hard parts for years, I'm pretty much a complete newbie digging into electrical issues, particularly on a more modern car. I've got a test light and a multitester and the shop manual. Any suggestion either general or specific in trying to hunt down the cause of a no-spark...

98 corolla timing chain tensioner by vutf5diykxjjmnj
Hi, I have a 98 corolla, manual transmission (76,000 miles) and the timing chain tensioner seems to start leaking oil every couple of years and needs to be replaced. On two occasions I've had the tensioner replaced twice within six months. I was beginning to wonder if this was a scam by the dealer...

Mazda B 2500 (1998) with a grinding noise by Mike
Hi all, I have a 1998 4 Cylinder Mazda B 2500 extended cab (made by ford, as I understand it). When I am driving, I get a grinding noise from the back/underside, that sounds almost like a stripped gear or when you are trying to use a drill on a screw and the head of the screw starts stripping,...

1984 Toyota Land Cruiser - How to Use a Manual Choke by Bob[_37_]

Silly question on vac reservoir/check valves by AWN[_3_]
Good afternoon, I can't believe that I'm stumped on this one but perhaps we could have some light shed if possible... My 95 S15 Jimmy used vac actuated blend doors, transaxle switching, etc. It's the system with the vac 'ball' under the hood. Here's the question - where do check valves fit...

1997 Subaru rear seat and rear wipers question by [email protected]
I purchased a used 1997 outback sport a few months back. Unfortunately it no longer had an owners manual. 1. Does any one know if the rear seat folds up (and then the seat backs down)? I can fold the seat backs down, but can't figure out how to fold the bench up. 2. I can't seem to find the...

This is very odd. Tonight the engine temperature gauge on my '06 Camry LE 4-cylinder did something I've never seen it do before. I had been shopping at Walmart for 45 minutes. When I left the store, and started the car, everything was fine. I drove about a block and turned off the engine to...
