2.4JTD Clutch by [email protected]
Hello, I have a 2001 156 2.4JTD, with 78,000 miles (125,000Km) on the clock. I have noticed that the clutch has begun to smell of burning when the engine is under load, although it doesn't seem to slip much - 90mph (145kmh) is at 3,000 rpm as it always has been. Does it sound like I need a new...

2.4JTD Gearbox by Nick
Hi, My car is a 2001 156 2.4JTD (140bhp). The gearlever has recently stopped centring itself on the 3rd/4th gear plane which makes changing gear a bit more difficult. Occasionally I select 1st when I want 3rd, and 2nd when I want 4th - not ideal! There seems to be no 'spring' in the gearlever at...

social commentary, performance art or smut? by [email protected]
I just came across the website for a video called "hunting for bambi". >From the looks of it, it seems to be a low-brow stab at the OLN/Playboy genres of cable networks, but also comes across as a misogynist celebration of gun culture. Does anybody have any insight or opinions as to what else it...

Can anyone recommend a good Alfa specialist in the Hertfordshire area? I had my pride and joy a September 04 registered 156 GTA 3.2 24v V6 Sportwagon broken into whilst at the game at Highbury against Manchester City at which Arsenal unfortunately managed to get a late equaliser. Some evil sod...

Re-setting air-bad warning light 147 by redTed
I've been told it's a simple, 5 minute job to do, but not how it's done. I'm a bit wary of getting Alfa dealers to do it because I know they are going to stick me with a minimum labour charge in the region of £50-60 . If it's an easy job, would some kind soul explain how it's done ? Car is 2001...

Hi collective! I'm hoping someone can advise me on a 2000 (W) Alfa 156 I picked up recently. It has an injection system warning light that's on pretty much constantly (located at end of Tach red line range). The dealer said that this was due to the Alfa code system because the radio has...
