is your Vette pet furniture? by
wallster[_1_]
The neighbors think i'm a corvette snob because i cover my vette up at night
(bought a breathable, waterproof cover when i bought the car)
Here's why:

I've yelled, physically removed, and begged the dumb cat to get his ass off
the car but he wont...

finally own a corvette! by
wallster[_1_]
It's official, I'm the new owner of a C4 (an '88 convertible to be specific)
I love the car. It has 90K miles but everything works pretty well. Needs a
power antenna (common problem from what i've read) the motor works but the
internal cable seems broken. I'll get to that this week. Also, she...

new antenna... bad reception...ugh! by
wallster[_1_]
I bought a replacement antenna from zip products for my '88 C4 and
everything works great except the reception... it sucks.
I checked all my coonections, grounds (especially my mast ground) and
blammo!, crappy reception. I think it was better with the non functioning
stock pos.
Any thoughts??...

hard starting when hot, maf sensor by
wallster
Hello everyone. My '88 C4 starts great when cold but when she's hot I
have to pump the accellerator pedal to start it. I originally thought
that I had a leaky injector or two but I believe it's the mass air flow
sensor or burn off relay(s). The engine was hot and I removed the maf
sensor and...

been lurking, got a question by
wallster
i've been reading up on corvettes (specifically the C4's) and your
newsgroup is a wealth of information. I think I have my first corvette
picked out and wanted some opinions from you experts.
My brother in law owns a chevrolet dealership and he found this car for
me. I've looked at about four...

C-4 removable tops both and frame flex question by
Wade Herod
Don't know maybe this has been covered. Someone just recently said that the
removable top adds regiddity to the frame. My question. As I drive almost
exclusively with the tinted top, which is lighter and thinner therefore not
as strong as the solid top, does my frame flex more with that top...

Transmission repair on 2002 Z06 by
wabbitslayer
my business partner just got a 2002 Z06 as a retainer fee,
car is great, and is fast as hell.
Only problem is that the 5th gear synchro is apparently messed up, you
have to literally slam it into gear to get 5th. Local transmission
shop says it can't be fixed, you have to replace the...

'75 Vacuum Headlights by
W. Moore
Hi all,
My headlights no longer go up and down with the light switch. They will go
up and down however with the little switch under the steering column. I
have replaced all vacuum lines for the headlight system forward of the
firewall. By blocking the right actuator and relay, the left side pops...

'75 fuel gauge by
W. Moore
Hi all,
Last spring I had to have the fuel tank removed and the rubber feed/return
lines replaced on my '75 model. The shop told me the tank was in excellent
shape with hardly a spot of rust anywhere. After the job I noticed that
when the tank is full the fuel gauge needle reads way past the full...

Vacuum operated headlights by
W. Moore
Hi all,
'75 model. My manual doesn't give instructions or vacuum values for
troubleshooting a sluggish headlight system. Right light is sluggish when
it works and the left light needs human assist for any up/down movement. It
does say that defective vacuum actuators can be removed thru the...

'75 Speedo Drive Gear by
W. Moore
Hi all,
I have noticed fluid leaking around the speedo drive area on the tranny
(automatic). The service manual instructions are simply to remove cable;
remove retainer bolt and clamp; and remove driven gear assy. to replace "O"
ring. Trouble is that the driven assy. just doesn't "come out". ...

Mice in car by
W. Moore
Hi All,
Found mouse droppings in my '75 model, so put a mouse trap on the drivers
floormat. Caught a mouse. Reset the trap, and caught a second mouse.
Found a large mouse nest under the console by the temp. controls made of
chewed up carpet insulation. I figured they were getting in around...

Locked out by
W Moore
'75 model. Yesterday I locked the driver's door like always by turning the
knob inside and closing the door. Later in the day I wanted to open the
driver's door again and the key wouldn't release the lock. I crawled in by
way of the passenger door and the knob wouldn't turn a full 90* to...

new parts for '75 by
W Moore
Hi all,
Need some new parts for the '75 that include a radiator, support
corner-cushions, throttle cable, and maybe even the foam seals that direct
the air into the fan shroud. Eckler's seems to be the least expensive
except for the radiator which is cheaper from one of the local parts chain...

Hood Alignment '75 by
W Moore
Hi all,
Just had a new radiator, shroud, and foam strips installed in my '75 model.
When I got home from the shop I noticed that the hood is rubbing the body on
the driver's side while there is about 3/8 inch clearance between the hood
and the body on the passenger side. I would like to make...

Car care products by
W Moore
Hi all,
I don't remember where I read this but it was about Armorall being bad for
dash/tires/etc. because it makes stuff crack. Yesterday at a cruise-in I
asked several owners of classic cars and they don't recommend using it
either although they couldn't remember just what it is that they do...

Brake Metering Valve by
W Moore
Hi all,
'75 Vette. There is a metering valve below the brake master cylinder that
meters brake fluid to the different wheels and has an electrical contact for
the brake light. On the side of this valve is a small rubber diaphragm
about 1/4 in. in diam. There is a pinhole behind this diaphragm...

from the more experienced folks like Dad, Bob G, Key, Tom in Missouri,...
