Looking for 2100cc+ engine. Any Recommendation? by
Scott
I'm adding my 2nd dunebuggy to my collection. The first buggy is a
1600 Dual Port Autostick which works very well for street driving.
The power is OK and I really like the autostick, however I'm putting a
4 speed tranny and some more HP in the next buggy. I get the HOT VW
magazine and am familiar...

Hi all,
I've searched the archives of RAMVA on best solutions to hold studs in
the carb body once they loosen and come out. - Especially the front
stud ( toward the front of the car. I know the rear stud can be held
in with a bolt and a nut)
I've found a few articles (about 3) mentioning loctitie...

FS: Restored 71 Beetle in North East PA (Honesdale) - $4,500 USD by
ismlv
Hi all,
My cousin is a real estate appraiser and came across a 71 Yellow Bug this weekend. Looks to be in great shape from what I see in the
pictures. The man that restored it apparently did restorations in his garage but has since passed away. I'm told it's being sold for $4,500
USD.
If anyone...

Dowel lost within engine case!!! by
Vaughn M Hannon
I meant to post a follow up a while back. Thanks for the suggestions.
The compressed air didn't work. I don't know how far down in there
this thing is but it didn't pop out. Soooo...I'm getting a used
engine case. It's the right thing to do.

[OT] I'm back in town and it's time to laugh by
Neil
Fresh from her shower, my wife was standing in front of the mirror
complaining to me that her breasts were too small. Instead of
characteristically telling her it's not so, I come up with a suggestion.
"If you want your breasts to grow, Then every day take a piece of toilet
paper and rub it...

Additional notes on electrolytic rust removal by
Bob Hoover
Clean the thing first.
Yeah, I know... it's a mess. But the odds are it's an oily, greasy
mess. And there may still be some paint under all that rust.
Electrolysis does not work on grease. Nor paint. You'll end up
removing the rust from all around the greasy or painted part... which
may be...

Defrost Help by
Birdlander
OK...I have a classically weak defroster in my 73 SB. Not a problem in the
summer, but as it gets wetter/colder here in the midwest, things get
difficult.
So...is there some kind of solution I can treat the inside of the windshield
with to help with this situation?

Floor Pan Replacement, Part 3 by
Ervin Charles
Okay,
The frame is under the chassis and the pans are in place. Do I drill
holes and spot weld the pans to the tunnel or just weld at the edge of the
pans? Does it matter? And do I paint the joint before or after I put
body/seam sealer on the joint?
Thanks, you guys have been a ton of help!

Got a gas heater by
jjs
What strange critter these gas heaters are. Where does a person find a new
sparker for them? Mine is there, but it's a little loose and wanders left
and right about a few millimeters.

Ignition coil. by
Tony Wilkinson
Hi, I have just bought a new 12volt coil and when I came to fit it, it
struck me that the paint might interfere with the current flow on the HT
circuit.
Do I need to remove some of the paint under the clamp? Or is the HT high
enough to jump through the paint?
Cheers,
Tony.
