Fix strategy for (common?) broken hood on '71? by
pgtr
Where my hood support attaches to the hood on the left side something
bad happened. My guess is that while it was up either the wind or
someone leaning against it partially cracked the inner fiberglass of
the hood and pushed the hood support mounting plate partially into the
fiberglass hood. The...

Lost a friend and local Corvette club member by
Tedd Riggs
We just lost a neat couple that has had only vette's since 1962 and very
active in the area's Vette functions. Decided to post this as there are
some Seattle area Vette owners. Leon was active in most ever vette rally in
the Pacific Northwest and loved black vette's and thru the years,...

Temp Gauge reads high. by
Al Reed
Any advice appreciated. The temp gauge reads high in my 64 stingray.
pushing on the back of the instrument panel in the vicinity of the gauge
causes it to read closer to the actual temp.
Are there resistance issues that might be resolved by removing the gauge and
cleaning all the...

You guys just HAD to go and talk about wax! by
jameson
Hi guys...
Just roaming the group and came across praise after praise of not only
a product called Zaino, but also Meguiar's NXT wax...
Ive owned my vette for a little over a week (it is a 1992). The paint
was in really good shape, but I could tell it needed a good waxing.
Plus this would be good...

Photos: Corvette C6 comes to Grants Pass, OR by
Al Gershen
Hi group:
When a new $53,000 C6 (with a VIN around 6,000) comes to our small
town of Grants Pass in southern Oregon for the first time, it means
get out the camera and take some photos.
Our local Chevrolet dealer allowed me to take these photos but they
didn't offer me a ride in this "unsold"...

quality of corvettes by
cris
I loved corvettes for as long as I can remember. As a young boy, I had corvette models and toy cars, shirts with corvettes on them, and any time I saw one on the road I would stare in wonder. I always said, someday, I will own a corvette.
About 2 and a half years ago, my finances and my luck...

Bose Stereo System - Outrageous Repair Charge! by
Brian Fatzinger
Three of the four speaker enclosures in my 1988 Corvette have failed. The
fourth sounds like it's beginning to go, as well. The local dealer tells me
that it will cost approximately $350 per enclosure to repair the individual
amplifiers in each enclosure. That is $1400 for the four speakers! ...

Driver side window found to no longer work - '98 C5 by
John Smith
I have a '98 Corvette. I drove it yesterday and the driver side window
worked fine. I went for a drive today and it wouldn't work at all. I can
hear the very faint "click" of what I assume is a relay in the door, but
nothing at all happens. I would assume that the motor has gone bad. Is
that a...

ABS and Anti Sked Warnings by
aRKay[_4_]
While doing nothing special the ABS and Anti Sked warnings came on the
DIC in my 2001 C5 Coupe.
I tried to clear then using the RESET and that did not work. I took it
to the dealer and they hooked up the Tech II tool (or whatever it is
called) and it the LF Door code came up saying the left...

crap! by
tdodge
just tooling home, bad driver made a left turn into my left front
fender. No escape..the only other choice was a head on with a third
vehicle, so I had to take the hit. No injuries.
Looks like the whole front clip is gone.
Still drivable, she got the ticket,
but my car is broke.

C4 cooling by
[email protected]
I need some help. 1990 c4, temp is good when driving but when idling
the temp begins to rise and almost overheats. No leaks, replaced all
seals and gaskets, changed thermostat. Water pump appears to be
working but not well, no leaks from weep holes. Is the pump starting
to fail but no symptoms?...

The great American pe nis machine by
Hachiroku $B%O%A%m%/(B[_2_]
I'm driving my Supra in New Hampshire, and for some reason they saw fit to
put roundabouts in the middle of Keene. I come up to one, and there is a
car already entered to my left, so I wait. All of a sudden I hear, "What
the hell are you WAITING for?!?!?"
I look and there's a black corvette, about...

Shock replacement, test drive, almost killed... by
Robrjt2
the weight transfer to the front of the vehicle keep the tires firmly planted
when the vehicle stops rapidly as in a sudden stop (when stopping in a forwards
direction.) Shocks don't play a big deal
