Can I get my 1600i (MexiBeetle) bored to 1.8 or 2 liters? by
elzopi
I need to rebuild my engine as it has low compression and I am exploring getting a 1.8 or 2 liter kit.
My main concern is if the intake will match the new cylinders intake.
Another concern would be if my EFI will handle the additional fuel needs of a bored engine.
Thanks

Tire Pressure by
Lynn Martin
I just got some new Kuhmo Tires, 165/80/15, (great deals for $26 a piece on
the net!) for my 1974 Superbeetle.
Anyhow, I am going to get them mounted/etc. The "recommended tire
pressure" listed on the glove compartment door says Front - 18 psi and Rear
29 psi. This seems too low to me,...

'74 Super Beetle - Bad ignition switch? by
[email protected]
My 1974 super is having problems where the car starts and runs just fine but none of my accessories work. I sometimes works if I jiggle the key in the ignition. Would this be caused by a bad ignition switch? Accessories include headlights, radio, windshield wipers, fresh air defrost and rear window...

Midnight Repairs (2017) by

He came down the back drive just before midnight on Christmas Eve. I was
out in the shop, about to call it a night when I heard the unmistakable
sound of a Volkswagen running on three cylinders. Bad valve.
It was an early model high-roof delivery van. Bright red with white
trim. He pulled up...

Hi. I’m looking to pickup a bug. I’ve owned 2, time for another. I’d need to tow it. I see uhaul rents towing trailers, really wheels and ramps. I’d like to hear from people here how good those are. Which end gets towed? Thanks!

HVX MODS on big-bore strokers by
Bob Hoover[_2_]
To All:
Oil for the right-hand half of the crankcase arrives there via the
channel behind the #2 cam bearing. When building a high-reliability
engine a standard procedure is to increase the cross-sectional area of
that narrow channel.
While this improves things, the amount of oil that can reach...

How Often Do You Replace the Rubber Fuel Hose? by
Jim Ed
I used to replace mine every 3 years.
At vw-resource.com he recommends replacing it every 5 years.
http://www.vw-resource.com/fuel_line.html
It's always a good precaution to replace all four sections of
rubber line about every five years.
