Alfa 164 Electric Window problem by
Emjay
Hello folks,
Thought I'd ask the audience for some advice before I leap in with my
screwdriver !
Both front windows on our Alfa 164 (2.0TS) intermittently stop
working. The nearside blows the 30A fuse occasionally, and the
offside window wont move (or gets stuck).
You can here a small relay...

'uneven' acceleration by
NC
All,
I am fairly new to the Alfa world - bought my first used 156 1.8 petrol
(t reg - 1999) about 3 weeks ago.
A strange thing I have noticed however, is the uneven acceleration I get
in 2nd. If I move off, up into 2nd and then floor it (or even just get a
little enthusiastic with the throttle),...

156 problems filling up the petrol? by
fmt
Being a new owner of a 156 I'm starting to learn all the delights of
owning and driving an Italian car, but one thing that's really bugging
me at the moment is as regards putting petrol in the car.
I've tried at 5 different fuel stations, but everytime the same thing
happens.
Nozzle goes in, fuel...

Paint/Scrape repair needed in Reading/Basingstoke area by
Dave Sparrow
Can anyone recommend someone in the Reading or Basingstoke areas that
can do a minor sideswipe repair job? No dents, but scrapes to
nearside front wheel arch and nearside front door. It would be nice to
know that I'm going to get a good finish with the correct paint (Fire

Clutch pedal hard to press in hot weather (Alfa 156) by
Steven Spits
Hi group,
This is a problem my Alfa 156 2.4 JTD (2002) has had for a long time.
Sometimes it is very hard to press the pedal all the way to the floor, and
sometimes it goes very smooth. Like I said, it has been this way a long
time, and it's doesn't seem to harm the car. But it's annoying...

Driving the Spider by
Dr Entropy
Over the last couple of years, the amount of driving I've been able to do has diminished
drastically, due to deteriorating vision. Not able to easily see any distance and CRT's were even
difficult to view. Blurred ~everything~ was my world. A few months ago diagnosed as having
cataracts. Night...

Alfa 166 -Rear view mirror sensor ?? by
DJ
Hi,
What is the sensor for on the rear view mirror on a AR 166 ?
I thought it was to sense daytime and night-time and auto adjust the ICS
screen colour but the ICS screen colour changes when you switch the head
lights on. - can't find anything in the handbook.
cheers

156 engine running poor at about 2000 rpm by
Guus Obelink
Since a few months the engine of my 156 SW 1.6 is running poor from 1750 to
2500 rpm. If you try to run it at an constant rpm, the engine is not running
smooth (NL: de motor houdt in) and at idle the rpm varies from 800 upto
1300.
The dealer resetted the motor management computer, but without...

156 'knocking' ?? by
NC
Hi all
car is 156 1.8 1999 (UK T) 39k on the clock.
When going slowly (<20mph), if I break (usually softly - ie in a traffic
queue) I can hear a quiet knocking. It appears to come from the drivers
side but other than that its hard to tell. If I roll and the break again
it doesn't happen, but then...

Alfa 33 front window by
[email protected]
Hi,
Just a simple question before I decide what to do. Is the front window
of a 1993 Alfa 33 glued in place or just suspended in rubber? If it's
suspended in rubber, I'll just go out to the junkyard to buy one, but
if it's glued it would be wiser to go to the local car glass service.

Reason nunber 187 why I love my Alfa by
Ypnos
Was downtown the other night waiting at traffic lights, minding my own
business and a Celica rolled up next to me with 2 kiddies in it, revving and
doing other things that jap-car owners have to do to get noticed. I was more
than happy to oblige, of course so I force fed them some dust and never...
