156 pollen filter by
simon bothwell
I recently removed the pollen filter from my '99 2.0 TS, it didn't have a
cover over the housing and now water is pouring in after any amount of rain!
Should it have had some form of cover, if so I will make one of sorts. Any
ideas?

motor control system failure by
jima
Disaster? On journey down to south west, light came on with message as
title. Engine runs with slight hesitation but continued for 75 miles
without mishap. What could it be? I've had a turbo pipe blow
before.....seems different. Oh yeah it's a 1.9 JTD. Cheers. Jim

New motor.... by
TonyB
Got the 156 today, chuffed to bits with it.
It's been serviced but the service indicator has not been re-set. Does
anyone know how to do that?
Otherwise it's fine, I found £1 and 5p together with a box of Tictacs and
some sweets and girly bits behind the rear seat. Just need to figure out the...

petrol / LPG by
GT[_14_]
This post is the same question that I just asked in uk.rec.driving.
After converting a petrol engine to LPG, can the car still use petrol as a
backup, or is it LPG only?
Anyone converted an Alfa? 2.0JTS specifically.

Opinions on the 147 please by
R C Nesbit
SWMBO, as a part of the belt-tightening is planning to sell
her beloved MX5 and buying an Alfa 147.
Cash is an issue, and there are a few nice looking examples
on Autotrader and Ebay at around the £1200-£1300 mark.
So is there anything specific to look for on these other
than the...

Locating parts and advice for an alfa spider-1974 by
TimM
Hi guys - I'm new to this forum. I was given an old Alpha Spider 1974 as
a wedding present - and its sitting in a garage in Italy without a
license plate and a mechanic saying I need to change some things to get
it to pass its Italian mot.
I was told that ironically it might be cheaper to find...

FS MX5 by
R C Nesbit
Lesleys 03 eg blue 1.8 MX5 is up for sale.
6 moths tax, MOT March 2011, 104k miles, good condition,
one lady owner (for past 18 months) OE hood, unmarked black
leather interior, the odd minor scratch.
Currently on Autotrader for £3.5k, sensible offers from
here considered.

156 Airbag recharge by
Malcolm Osborne
My '99 vintage 156 TS is now 11 years old, coming up for an (expensive) 280
000Km service! Have to change cambelt once again.
A while ago, I noticed a sticker on the doorframe stating that the airbags
should have had the gas cylinder(s) recharged by 2009. I'll get that checked
at the service,...

2.2 JTS by
GT[_14_]
Where has the JTS option gone on the 159?? alfa romeo website car
configurator offers the 1750 tb as the only petrol option now!
I would have thought that the 2.2 JTS would be much torquier and relaxed
drive than the 1750 turbo and similar BHPs.
When did this happen and why wasn't I informed!!

GT[_14_]
Google for 159 1750tbi (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=159+1750tbi) and the first
thing on the sponsored links box (RHS) is a link to a traumatic brain injury
website.
Are they trying to tell us something about your mental state if you buy one?
Or perhaps mental state required before buying one? Its a...

156 Cargo net size by
GT[_14_]
Anyone know if the cargo net accessory is the same size for the 156 saloon
(2002) as the estate? (The stretchy net thingy that clips into the bottom of
the boot to stop your pint of milk and mars bar from rolling around)
