1990 100 Dies/Stalls when cornering by [email protected]
It has a lot of miles, but runs well--until recently. When I take a corner, it dies. The lights on the dash come on so it seems the whole system isn't shutting down and staying down. If it were a carbed engine, I would be looking to turn up the idle. In all other aspects, it runs well, but this...

squeaky AC Heater fan in 97 A6, how hard to fix? by 377
Lots of squeaking when the fan is turned on, varies with fan RPM. Sounds like a worn out bearing/bushing on the fan motor. How tough is this to access and lube or replace? I did this once on a Volvo 240 and I swear those Swedes built the entire car around the fan motor. It took MANY hours....

two SCARY sudden acceleration incidents 92 Audi 100S by 377
Happened yesterday. Below is text of two messages I sent to NHTSA on their complaint form. Notified AUDI US also, but no reply . I always thought these claims were BS and from old drivers who accidentally depressed the accelerator pedal when they thought they were pressing the brake. It is scary,...

one wiper has poor windshield contact 92 100S by 377
This problem is bothering me. A 92 Audi 100S has poor wiper to windhield contact on drivers side. Passenger side is fine. Tried new blades, blade holder, even added extra springs to wiper arm tension springs, problem persists. Any suggestion? Should I try a new arm (over $50). The original owner...

Audi R8 by 515331Jack3490
What do you think of the Audi R8? Porsche is good for racing tracks with turns Ferrari is good for speed Lambo is a good compromise for speed and flexibility but not as good as Porsche and Ferrari in their respective strengths. What will be the R8 good at?

Self-levelling suspension A100/200QT Avant (A6?) by 5potnoodle
Is there anyone in the UK with a pair of self-levelling legs for an Audi 100 or 200 Quattro that they are willing to part with? Just out of interest, does anyone know what the physical differences are between the type 44 and later 4A rear suspension is? I only ask because my 1989 200QT Avant...

Possible fix for "dead" autoboxes by 5potnoodle
I don't believe it but apparently it works 9 times out of 10. Experiencing a slipping box and losing drive after a few minutes? Happened to me once, mechanic told me it needed a new box so ended up scrapping the car. Wish I had been told this little trick beforehand. For the cost of doing it over...

alternator trouble? by 944guy
Came out of work today, started my Audi 90 2.8 and noticed it making a bad sound from the front. Sounded like I was dragging something metal, like a muffler, but I wasn't, it was coming from the engine bay. Drove over to the repair shop I use and noticed along the way I had no blower or blinkers...
