Drank the Kool-Aid by
The Millers
> I plan to put only a few thousand miles per year on it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was only going to drive mine on weekends. Bought in
April this year with 39,000 miles on it. As of yesterday the odometer is
showing just over 50,000.
I'm also going through withdrawal -- yesterday was the last day...

philadelphia miataphites by
classicred
Hey. anyone looking for a miata (or any Mazda) in the philadelphia area
beware. Stay away from Marty Sussman Mazda of Jenkintown PA (and they also
have a Sussman in Southern NJ). I have been having them sort out a
financial bug that they made on the purchase of my miata over a year ago,
and they...

NOx Emissions Question by
Nick H
My '93 Miata marginally failed the TX State Inspection for NOx at the high
speed and low speed. I changed the spark plugs and air filter (was due for
this anyway) and had it tested again - this time I passed the low speed test
(barely) and still failed the high speed test (1,562 ppm NOx vs the...

Questions from a new owner by
Max
Hi,
I just bought a '93 'V-Special' Edition Miata, and had the following
questions:
1) The suspension has been lowered slightly by the previous owner, but I
remember driving a Miata with a stock suspension setup last month, and I
prefer that 'softer' ride. I was wondering if deflating/inflating...

Vroom-Vroom by
Usenet
Picked up Zigger from Coop's miata and I'm told I now have the first M1 (97)
with the MP62 supercharger. I have just 300 miles on it now but the power
increase is really something. Of course, now I need more track time and
instruction but Thunderhill is just a few months away!
I kept the original...

How long should a battery last? - storage advice? by
Hugh
Hi All
Just gone to get my 2002 MX5 1.8 out of my garage.
Battery too flat to start it.
Hasn't been used for 2 weeks and only had one short run in the 2 weeks
before that.
Any advice on whether this is normal?
How long should a battery last?

I know this has been asked, but... by
USAROVER
Has anyone experienced a battery drain even after disabling the radio
(aftermarket)? My '91 has an issue with holding voltage. A new battery was
installed this summer after some alt and bat testing. The alt tests good,
but even the new bat won't hold voltage for more than two days. Am I
looking...

Where's the cheapest place to get shifter boots ? by
Chief_Wiggum
I need the small, and large rubber boots for my NA, and I was shocked to
find out how much the dealers want for them !! About the best price I've
seen so far is from Trussville for ~$48.00 !!!
I think it's nuts that you can buy a CV boot for $8.00 but a shift boot is
$25.00 Does anyone make an...

Anyone here in Melbourne, Australia? by
Daniel Granot
I have a 1990 MX5.
The custom exhaust is rattling and giving me the ****s depite numerous
attempts by my performance mechanic to silence it.
I was wondering whether there were any Melbournian readers here who could
recommend someone reliable (and hopefully not ridiculously pricey).
Thanks.

Airbag Indicator Light by
R. Rikoski
I have a 1992 Miata which I bought new in November 1992. It now has 7000
(seven thousand) miles on it. Within the last month, the airbag light
has started to flash. The blink rate is four flashes on at one second
intervals then off for four or five seconds. Then the cycle repeats.
This goes on for...

Bad oil pump?? by
Solara
My '92 Miata with about 90K, has been pegging the oil pressure gauge at the
90 psi mark during acceleration. Thinking it was the gauge or sending unit,
I took it to my mechanix. He said the both were fine and the oil pressure
was actually in the 70-90 psi range at 2500-3000 rpm. He said the...

hub centering rings: plastic vs. aluminum? by
Grant Edwards
As I was putting on my 3rd snow tire this morning, it dawned on
me that I needed centering rings for the aftermarket wheels
that my snow tires are on. Some places sell poly carbonate
rings, some places sell aluminum ones. Since they're supposed
to bear most of the weight of the car, I would think...

Fuel sending unit or Gauge most likely to fail? by
Pacocase
Hey all,
My 97's fuel gauge has gone bonkers. Sometimes it reads a full tank, sometimes
3/4, but it's never accurate. A few months ago it started working
intermittently, but when it did work, it was accurate. Now it just doesn't work
at all. Sometimes it moves from full, but only by a hair, no...

Ford Focus SVT as replacement for Miata: your thoughts by
Doug
After so much enjoyment, I have to consider another vehicle. I'm
almost sick thinking that my Miata-ing is either limited or over now.
I can't even count the good times I've had with it.
My '90 first-month-of-production is at that point. The tranny failed
on me and it's in storage until I can...

Let me be slightly trollish in this matter as I admit mothers who take their
brats to school in their 4x4s as they are not "very good" at parking i.e
f**king dangerous to the rest of the world! do the 4x4 a dis-service
i.e its them who should be driving Fiestas "properly, safely etc" but...

1991 red turbo report by
pws
The 1991 turbo 1.8 liter that I bought is still going well, car & driver
are both alive and uninjured. I have been driving it very carefully,
almost re-learning to drive the car. I spent 5 years with the ability to
give my miata near-maximum to maximum acceleration under almost any
circumstances....
