jumping out of gear by
GT[_14_]
New (to me), 2009 159 1.9 jtdm 16v sw.
Jumps out of 2nd when trundling up to junctions/roundabouts. Other gears OK.
Still under warranty for a year from the garage I bought it from last week,
so not really a big problem, but any ideas from the experts in here before I
take it in.
Another point...

Phew by

The 156 passed it's MOT today with only the rear brake pads
needing a change. For 101,000 miles, I'm chuffed with that!

Hello 164 by
GT[_14_]
Just a quick hello to the 164 I saw in Kirkcaldy on Sunday. Didn't get a
chance to stare properly as you went the other way at the roundabout!
Regards,
159 estate, grey!

Problem time... by
GT[_14_]
The 159 1.9jtdm has started saying 'have engine checked'. The familiar
yellow engine light stays on too. The 156 always did this and I learned to
ignore it!
Car is running fine, no splutters, no bad noises, no smells, fuel
consumption normal. Its done 3-4k miles in the last month or so, but...

Replacing fuses by
GT[_14_]
I tried to use a air compressor to check my tyres and blew the front
cigarette lighter fuse after about 30 seconds, but the cigarette socket in
the boot is 15a and coped just fine. I therefore presume the compressor
draws 11a to 12a.
What are the implications of replacing the 10a fuse for my...

What an Effing Pain! by
R C Nesbit
Finally got around to replacing the split top turbo hose on
the 156 1.9JTD
It *should* have been a simple case of undoing 2 jubly
clips - *WHY* do they insist on putting the nut part in
*the* most inaccessible place? - more to the point *how*?
2 1/2 bloody (literally!) hours!

Hello nice red 75 by
GT[_14_]
Shout out to the nice red 75 between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes last weekend.
I was in the silver 159 estate that flashed to say 'hello, nice alfa' (but
just seemed to annoy you - grumpy face!).

Glow plugs by

I can't remember if it was on here or elsewhere that
someone said 'get a man in' to do this because it could end
in tears?
Well I did - £90 labour, including thread repair.

The eternal pain in the bum for Alfisti
Front nearside sidelight. £4 bloody 70 Pence!
Skinned knuckles getting the old one out, go to local shop,
get replacement, feels a bit iffy fitting in the holder,
but this is Sunday, the shop has closed, so I tested it
before replacing the holder -...

Any of the old guard still around by
[email protected]
Hello Alfisti
Sorry, I kind of dropped off the usenet radar for the last couple of years. Too much stuff on at work and so on.
Still got 3 Alfas, and one Maserati :)
Anyway, glad to see there's some traffic in here soon, but it's quiet as it was. Still all good things....
Wondering if anyone...
