#2 cylinder not firing by A VFW[_2_]
boy, am I perplexed. seems there's miss. I pulled spark plug wires out of the dist. cap , one at a time at idle. of course each wire pulled produced a noticeable bigger miss until I got to #2. I replaced the distributor cap , the plug, wire and checked the compression. WTF could it be?

I replaced my starter with a 'new' rebuilt one... When I turn the ignition, there's a grinding noise momentarily and then it starts. I removed it to check the flywheel gears and the starter gear look fine, no shavings. Is it possible the starter is bad? What else should I check? tia,
