Civic LX 97 not-so-stellar-performance by
chibitul
Hi,
I got this Civic LX 97 a few weeks ago. I checked the engine
compression, it is OK, all cylinders 158-161psi.
I also have a 2001 Civic LX that my wife drives now. Both cars are
manual transmission.
Here is what I notices:
Acceleration: the 97 accelerates noticeably slower than the 01

Hi, just measured the thickness of the front brake disks on my Civics,
but I could not find the minimum thickness engraved on the discks. So I
wonder if any of you knows ths specs, minimum thickness, and if you
also know the maximum thickness (when the discks are NEW) that would
also help (i.e. I...

fan problem by
chicago
Well the fan in my 91 Accord for the ventilation (heater, AC) stopped
working (it been a little noisy lately, now its just dead). Is it expensive
to get fixed? Also, I must say I'm pretty ignorant, I opened the hood and
noticed that the 2 big radiator fans between the engine block and the...

replacing a heater/AC fan on '91 accord COST! by
chicago
I have no ventilation inside my '91 accord, what's a fair price to get this
fixed? I was told $400 from a trusted mechanic, which is like 40% of the
value of the car... And the temperature reaches 100F daily here in summer so
it's essential...

Civic Brake Question by
[email protected]
I want to check my rear brakes, but can't get the damn brake drums off
to inspect the shoes. Is there some trick I don't know about how to
remove the brake drums ? I've whacked them with a hammer and sprayed
rust-buster on the lugs, in case they are rusted on. Still, they won't
budge. And YES, the...

This is a straight commuter car..110 miles per workday. I'm wondering

brands are good or should I pay the premium price and go with Honda
OEM. I need a good...

[email protected]
My 5-speed shifter is getting kind of squeaky and it seems like it

under the shift lever boot. How do I access this area ? Do I need to
pull the console ? Is it accessible from beneath the car ? Does the
shifter boot some how come off so that it can be lifted up ?

2007 Honda CRV Maintenance Schedule by
[email protected]
The Owners Manual says NOTHING about what needs to be done and when
with regard to scheduled maintenance/inspections. All I know is to
take it in whan the wrench shows up on the display. This makes me VERY
uncomfortable, as I'm at the mercy of the dealer.
Is there any definitive info on this,...

Engine light keeps comming on by
ChopChop
I brought the car in and the person that scanned the car said it was to do
with the gas tank cap. He told me to always make sure I tighten it all the
way until a few clicks. Which is what I always do. What other issues do you
think it could be? I only use the reg gas. I had a person mention it...

Spring Compressor Advice by
Chopface
Can anyone reccomend a spring compressor for replacing stock (what I
believe to be) suspension on a '91 Civic Si? The car has 134k and there
is visible leakage from the front dampers (haven't gotten a good look at
the rear). I can feel my front tires loosing contact with the ground or
"skipping" at...
