Ride height by
Zog The Undeniable
Here's a bit of weirdness.
My 1997 car sat a bit higher at the front than at the rear, so I assumed
the springs had sagged. I was given some springs from an earlier (1990)
car which measured exactly the specified free lengths and therefore
couldn't have sagged. On fitting these the F/R...

more than one way to skin a cat by
pws[_1_]
Problem - Car has been pushed into a non-paved carport, suspension has
been removed first, now the engine needed to be pulled to be sold.
The customer has a lift, but it will not roll at the front of the car
and there is not room to back his truck up to it.
Bad planning, if I had backed it in,...

Shifting problems with my 2000 Miata by
[email protected]
I recently changed my fluid in the transmission with Vfalvoline
Synthetic Blend Gear Oil 80W-90. Now the transmission is very hard to
shift into 2nd when it's cold. After a few miles of driving, it's
fine. Also, prior to taking off the tranmission can shift into 2nd
with no problem. But once I...

Believe it or not? by
Leon van Dommelen
This one seems hard to believe, not?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070207/sc_nm/cars_fuel_ford_dc
Although the Dutch are the most reliable people, who would be
unlikely to make a claim that was not fully warranted
scientifically.

Brake and Rotor questions - Part 2 by
Emma
Okay, so I finally did the brakes & rotors and I have a few questions.
1.) I bought OEM pads so they came with shims. However, I noticed
that when I took the old ones off, there were no shims on them. Is it
okay to put pads on without the shims? Also, when I got the parts,
the little springs...

Clutch problems by
Mark[_13_]
Just yesterday I noticed a potential problem with my clutch. It
seemed like it was getting worse as I drove to work today, but I may
have just been getting paranoid. In any case, it's not like it
normally is.
The first symptom I noticed is that the clutch engages almost
immediately when...

Dragging rear brake. by
Alan Baker
My right rear brake has started to drag and the brake idiot light has
lit up.
Best guesses as to the cause? My Miata is a 1990 which hasn't had any
work done on the brakes in quite some time, so I suspect perhaps the
guide pin(s) are not sliding smoothly, but that's just a guess.

Q: Heater On = Low Gas Mileage? by
solamour
Hello, everyone.
This might be a rather dumb question, but well, here it is anyway.
I know for sure the gas mileage drops if I turn on the air
conditioner, but is it true for the heater as well? Some say that's
not the case for the heater, because the engine doesn't work any
harder even if I turn...

NC Footwell Lights by
McMahon
Bought 'em and installed 'em:
Mazda part#: N123-V7-050F (Mazda list: $115.00, I got 'em for $93.75 from
dealer parts)
I liked having light in footwells on my NB (for me, helps finding stuff that
slips off passenger seat on way to meeting once you've parked in dark
underground garage).

Miata transmission issue by
[email protected]
Just this last Saturday, I was driving along and started having an
issue with shifting down from 3rd to 2nd. It is like the syncro is
completely gone for that shift. I can shift down without grinding the
"old school" way, but just trying to pull it into gear it grinds as if
I were trying to...
