Bruce Gow
The relay that is on the right side of my 1990 Miata burnt out . It is the
relay which activates the electric fan to cool the engine. What is the part
number and where can I buy one?

'92 Protege by
Phil
I've had this vehicle trouble free since new. It now has 3 problems
which seem to be related but 2 repair shops cannot figure out.
-The engine check light flickers on after a couple of minutes driving
then goes off.
-The engine races after a couple of minutes at idle, then settles down
again.
-It's...

Michellin Pilot Tires by
squirrely
In a torque oversteer situation, surprised by the lack of side to side
traction these tires show.
No squeal, no rubber on the road, just slides away without a sound, and this
is dry pavement.
These are the low profile tires on the large rims.
Are these tires known as hard?

New Miata Owner Question - Top by
Prometheus7
I just bought a 2002. Although I anguished over the purchase, now I'm
smiling when driving. One question though....how long should I expect a top
to last before needing replacement? I'm not facing that yet, but figure the
day will come.

fixing slashed convertible top by
Art McGinn
a preliminary note: using a scrap of vinyl convertible-top material from a
local auto upholstery shop (free from its scrap pile), affixed same with
some goopy stuff called "elmer's stix-all" which bills itself as a "hi-tech
adhesive" (bought at a wallgreen's). glued the patch from the...

Boot Cover by
gjt
Group:
My boot cover has been in the truck for quite a while. It is real loose
fitting and won't stay in the groove that holds it on.
Any way to tighten up the fit to put some tension on it to create a
tigher fit?
Thanks,
gjt

Check engine light by
Brian Turner
I just bought a 1999 Miata. The check engine light came on shortly
after I bought it. I determined the that the gas cap was bad and
replaced it. The light did not go off immediately, but went off about
a day later and stayed off. The dealer told me that this is typical.
He said that the...

New Top Concern/Issue by
Pat Dreiding
I purchased and installed a cloth top on my 99 miata from Duetto. I did it
myself and it still looks great.
The installation part of the instructions could use some work, just remember
how it went apart and use your common sense.
My concern now is the material/seam that goes across the car about...

Cruise Control for Mazdaspeed Miata by
Me
If this had been two months ago before I discovered coming out of
Tulsa that yes, the CC in my 93' actually works (don't ask) I wouldn't
be having these qualms. But geez, it took a load off of my foot for
those 2000 miles back to SF. So, the lack of CC on the Mazdaspeed is
bugging me.
Has anyone...

Rear window material by
Baby Grand
I want to replace the soft rear window in my 97 M. I have a shop and tools
to do it myself, but what is it? Clear Polycarbonate? Thickness is .040
inches (1 mm). Anyone have a reasonable price source for this material?
TIA

Dire need of Greddy manifold by
DonB
A somewhat odd set of circumstances leads me to seek a new exhaust
manifold for my Greddy-turbocharged '91. First, at 5:30 one morning
while following another vehicle, I noticed (too late) a large chunk of
meat in the middle of the road. It was a well-hit and pulverized
deer. Since my Miata is...

New Miata owner by
Brian Turner
My wife and I just bought a 1999 Miata. We love it so far. I just sold a
1970 VW Karmann Ghia and am switching from the aircooled VW newsgroup to
here, so I am a newbie. My first question is this. When following the car
home after we bought it, we noticed that the speedometer seems to be...

Temp Gauge by
Pat
'91 Miata STD.
What should the temp be?
My temp gauge needle is getting up to about 1/8th of an inch to the left of
center. So if Cold was zero and Hot was 100. My temp gauge would be around
45.

Flood damage by

Here in SE PA we had the Delaware river overflow it's banks on Sunday. I
stopped at the garage of a friend to see how he made out. He had emptied his
shop Saturday and now was repainting and repairing the building. Anyway, a
local Miata owner came to him to repair his flood damaged '90 Miata that...

fog light bulb acess? by
Opuawest
Because Miatas are nearly invisible, I like to drive with headlights AND fog
lights on all the time. Problem is, the fogs last less than a year this way
and the manual says "see dealer", which I do, under warantee (it expires
soon!). I have an 02 SE snd it's not obvious how to get into them. ...

Heater Mazda 323 - year of construction is 1993 by
Jeff Hall
Basic heater operation: Engine coolant rises to approx 180 degrees in
engine block. Thermostat opens allowing heated coolant to flow through
system into radiator and heater core (works like a small radiator). Blower
motor fan blows air past heater core thus making heat.

Advice on buying new MazdaSpeed or modifying 93' by
Me
I have a black and tan 93' with about 100k on the odometer. I've loved
having it for the last three years and have toured the country with it
every summer--about 25k's worth of driving. It's pretty loaded, PS,
PW, CC, PM, AC, etc. though I don't really use AC much and don't
really care about power...

Autoweek info on the "next" Miata by
Scott Streeter
"Forget the Ibuki concept from Tokyo. The next Miata will carry most of
its own current, svelte lines and some front-end hints from the
RX-8. And it will have piston power, not rotary. It will ride on a
redesign of the current platform too, not an RX-8".

LA-area mechanics? by
Kevin Lahey
I recently moved from the Bay Area down to the LA-area (Claremont,
to be specific). I've always taken my Miata to PR Motorsports --
they provide good service at a reasonable (if not discount) price,
are completely trustworthy, and provide heaps of good advice
for free.
I'm looking for a similar...
