newbie by
Classy
Ok. I'm new to Miatas (well, got it in January)
I'm new to the group.
Question:
Does anyone else downshift in tunnels and drive in parking garages in first
gear near the redline every now and then just to hear the exhaust note? or
is it just me?
I always thought I was quite sensible until now.

Protecting front and rear fenders in the city by
Me
I'm going to have to park on the street in SF with my new Miata. Any
tricks or products for keeping the braile parkers from scratching the
heck out of the paint?
I've thought of a car bra, but I only really want it for parking and I
want to protect both front and rear.

Anyone know the difference between red and blue cover 90-97 Haynes manuals?
I do NOT need to know how superior the Enthusiast's manual is.

Heater connections by
KWS
So I've decided to take out the dashboard out of the '90 to fix the heater
core since the carpet has to come out now that it's saturated. As usual, one
stupid thing is holding me up, so I shall ask any of you for help:
There are two wires that connect to the heater blower. This connection...

dented frame rail - problem? by
pws
I am helping a friend look for a used miata. We have found one, the
price is right for her, the only thing that I have noticed is that one
of the frame rails has been compressed, it looks like by either hitting
a rock or more likely by being jacked up by a scissor jack at the wrong
point.
The frame...

NB top AND frame in an NA? by
ROMAD
I've been told that a complete top and frame assembly out of an NB will bolt
right into an NA. Has anyone here done this? Is it true or did you have to
modify the frame, car, both?

Hi again. I posted a message about a week ago titled "So I've got a
little over a year to think this one over." I mentioned that in a
little more than a year I will be able to buy a Miata. Thank you for
the replies and information. I have spent a lot of time at Miata.net
and also searching the...

WTB: Replacement BBS 14" alloy wheel for 1991 Special Edition BRG Miata. by
Erich Hespenheide
These are BBS wire-wheel like similar to later years 'M' edition
wheels, but flat surfaced with gold color. I had a minor side-swipe
accident in the rain on a sharp curve and damaged the original rim.
Note: AAArims.com does not list them, but I have e-mailed them for
clarification.

Lubricant questions... especially for the T-LSD by
Chief_Wiggum
Before someone says RTFM, let me just say..
I DID!
Okay, Just so I know the status of everything, I want to go ahead and change
the oil in the trans, and the rear end on my recently purchased 97 M model.
From what I have read, I assume, being an M it has the Torsen LSD rear end,
although I can't...

Top Installation - Columbus OH area by
Chad Hegerty
The rear window on my 1991 Miata cracked with the last cold spell. Since the
top is showing some wear elsewhere I am looking for recommendations of a
shop in the Columbus, OH area to get a new one installed. I was looking at
the Robbins line of tops as they seem to be recommended.
Anyone have any...

Irratic Oil Gauge by
Mike
My recently acquired 1990 MX5 oil gauge seems to have a mind of it's own!
Sometimes it's pinned right over, most times it bounces around from full
scale or some where in the middle it bounces up and down about 25% above and
below the centre mark. I'm not really worried but..... is it the meter...

Radio Button spring action is gone by
Pat Dreiding
My '99 Miata radio power/volume push button is not working as well as it
used to.
It feels like the spring that gives the button a distinct in/out feel when
you push it is broken.
It still works, but when I go to change the volume, I have to be extra
careful not to accidentally turn it off.
It's...
