Dave Gibbens
Hi folks,
Just purchased a polo with 41,000 k's with service records and absoluty love
it but....notice a very slight humming noise at idle. Finally traced it to
the vicinity of fuel pump access hatch under rear seat. My question is that
is this normal for polo's or is something on the way out.The...

90 passat stalls after warmup by
Kark Doemland
My 90 passat w/A9 motor stalls after +/- 20 minutes.
Could it be overheating?
Temp gauge = 190 to 220 degrees, occasionally fluctuates.
the fan starts ok, maybe too late?
If so, why would overheating stop the fuel injection?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, -Karl D.-

Oil-Pan Shroud Question by
Brian Running
The car is an '01 Jetta, base 2.0L engine. It has the shroud around the oil
pan, lined with foam. With every oil change, more oil gets into the foam,
both from the drain plug and the filter. The foam is thoroughly saturated
with oil.
Changed the oil Sunday morning, and noticed a couple of spots...

2002 Passat engine guard by
Robb
Greetings all,
I have a 2002 Passat and the engine guard underneath the car needs to
be replaced. Where can i find this part? I haven't been able to find
one online, but I'm not sure if I am searching for the correct name of
the part. Should I just break down and get one from the dealer, or...

1995 Jetta transmission by
Rick
Does anyone know where I could get a used 5sp. tranny in the Milwuakee, Wi.
area? I went up there to replace the clutch in my brother-in-laws 95 Jetta
only to find a hole the size of a half-dollar in the side of the case. Much
internal damage as well. I'm not sure of the code but it's for a...

silly bulb replacement question by

96 Golf GL needs rear brake bulb replacement. According to the owners
manual this is done from the inside but the interior liner in the area
seems to be be quite permanently attached. There are a couple of clips
but in other places the liner seems to be anchored underneath brackets
and even sewn...

VW Golf towing delema by

Sorry, I don't have data for the A4, as the german VW homepage of
course only lists A5 data, but it should be similar for the A4.
Again, there's no 1.8 turbo in the A5 yet, but the 150HP FSI should...

Flywheel Timing Mark by

Look at valves to see both are closed in cylinder 1. Remove all spark
plugs. Stick large screwdriver in cylinder 1 when you see it is close
to the top. Rotate slowly one way to see it peak and start to drop
back down. Rotate back the other way to see it peak again. If you do
this correctly you will...

Passat transmission sport code by
phill magnuson
I have a 99 Passat V6 w/ auto transmission. Is there a way to program
the transmission so that it is always in "sport" mode? supposedly the
transmission will go into "sport" mode when you depress the
accelerator all the way. I just don't want it to go back to "normal"
mode.
Thanks,

Kids are fat enough without stuffing their gobs while in the car. Get out
and walk their fat asses to a table.
Most newer seats are perforated for comfort's sake. This makes for a lot...
