330ci : Brake disc needs replacement after 10,000 km ?! by
Klaus T.
Hi Folks,
a BMT 330ci is in the workshop - they called and want to replace the
brake discs after less than 10000km. It is about 18 months old.
The car has been used occasionally within the city for short rides.
Waiting for days for the next usage, it is clear that the discs start
to corrode after...

Finally learning how to drive stick!! by
Shant M
With my lease ending in late March, I decided no more automatic trans
for me. I've been learning how to drive stick and I'm getting pretty
good at it. Hills are still a bit tricky for me, but i'm getting the
hang of it.
The '06 330i i've been eyeing will be oh so sweeter in a nice 6-speed!!!

Gas pedal stuck doing 130mph for 60 miles by
mistral
Following account taken from a British paper describing the harrowing
account of a BMW 318 with a stuck gas pedal at 130 mph. I have to
question the driver's sanity--when told his car is a write-off after he
had flipped it, he said..."I'd buy another BMW because, although there
was a problem, it...

My first BMW !!! by
*FeDe*
Today I get my BMW E36 (318 is coupè)
I have my first question:
When I setup the clock (where you read also the external temperature), when
I shut down the car, the time is lost, and at the restart I have to setup it
again.
Why ?
Thank so much
So happy to join you

Yaaaayyyyy, I'm $3641 lighter now by
Victor Faraday
Thanks, Mr. E36, my friend. You've been very well maintained;
you been pampered like a baby, and driven by a gentleman. You've
been a bit of a problem child, but I forgave you. But now,
you're pressing your luck a bit.............you may find yourself
with a new and not so nice owner in the not...

Two questions about the BMW E46 by
Ikke
Hi everyone,
About 4 years ago, I bought a new BMW E46, 320d. Now, 4 years later, I've
had a look in the trunk below the floormat and I've noticed that I do not
have a spare wheel. Nor do I have a little replacement tire.
Is this normal? I did buy the M Sports package which comes with the 18"...

Recycle Brake Rotors? by
Jeff Strickland
Do brake rotors have scrap value?
I am not positive, but I'm thinking I took some rotors to my metal recycler
and he didn't want them. I know I took something down there that he didn't
want, but I can't remember what it was -- rotors are the only thing that I
would have laying around though ...

88 535i rough ride by
[email protected]
Hi, my mechanic has repaired a broken steering box bracket by welding
it.
This has been done twice and now it is breaking again. What could be
causing
the repeated breaking?
By the way, the car drives so much smoother with the steering box able
to
move around. I think the box is moving even with...

325 vs. 328, is there a difference in reliability? by
CNB
I've been pricing some used BMWs and have zero'd in on the 3 series, and
would rather have a 6-cyl over the 4. My question to the owners of the 325's
and 328's is this- is the 328 any more reliable than the '25? Are there
advantages or disadvantages to either one? Both seem like fine cars but...

E46 wheels and tires by
Planar1
I borrowed this from a Bimmer E46 M3 web site:
The M3 sits on 18-inch M-style alloy wheels (8.0-inch wide front and
9.0-inch wide rear), with appropriately sized high-performance tires (225/45
ZR - 18 front and 255/40 ZR -18 rear).
Will I be able to successfully install this combo on my 330ci? Is...

3 yr old New Jersey 330 in Atlanta - rust inevitable? by
Brandon
I am in the process of searching for a 3 series BMW. Looked at leasing
a new one -- but the payment was outrageous, so I have been looking at
more budget-accommodating 2001 - 2002 330s and 325s.
I found a car that I am happy with -- a 2001 330 sedan. The exterior
looks good, but I noticed a bit...

This one's gotta go.
Or, should I just pony-up and get the Sirius option?

NuFinish by
Vernon Balbert
I just saw a commercial for NuFinish car polish. I've been seeing
commercials for this since I was a kid and am wondering if its claims
are even close to truth. Seven bucks (list price) seems to be a good
deal for something that is as good as it claims to be. I'm just curious
if anybody has...

E39 - 530 or 540? by
Jeremy
Looking at both of these models as a replacement for the 523 - the 540
appeals hugely but fuel consumption is higher, insurance is higher and
IIRC it has recirculating ball instead of rack and pinion steering.
I have decided to go for an auto this time.
Why should I consider a 540 over a...

High Definition Radios by
Skip
I saw an article about High Definition Radios and the fact that supposedly
the 2006 BMWs would have them in dash. Does anyone have any information
about this type of radio? Will the 2006 330 CI, which should come out next
summer, be equipped with it?
TIA,
Skip

Many thanks for you all for helping me (I've decided to go for it after

discs being knacked (service manager said discs...

Ticketed for Road Rage! by

On my way to work this morning about 6:15 am. Still dark outside, a
car with no lights moves abruptly into my lane w/o signals. I slow
down. Suddenly his trunk pops open and junk and/or paper garbage
starts flying out into my lane. I then decide to get around this
idiot. I blow by him in a...
