'68 Bus Heater Question: Asbestos by
Twisted Vintage
I am in the process of fixing up a '68 bus.
I thought I read somwhere a few months ago that the insulation around the
heater pipe (underneath bus) is wrapped in Asbestos.
Is that true?
Thanks,
Doug

The vent wing locks on my '68 are broke and the previous owner rigged

I have new locks, but not sure how to get the old one's off and the new

'68 Westy engine/body seal by
Fish
Two questions.
1. Two pieces arrived in the package. I assume the larger "U" shaped
piece goes around the rear of the apron (front of the engine). Where
does the smaller piece go?
2. Is there a way to install the seal without removing the engine?
Thanks

'69 beetle intermittent horn by
[email protected]
Hi All,
Just got my standard '69 bug back from a shop that works on a lot
of aircooled vws. They do good work. They replaced the missing wire
down the steering column and also the wire that crosses the outside of
the steering column junction above the steering box. They also
cleaned all the...

'69 electrical problems by
Peet Grobler
Hi.
I'm new to this group, and need some advice. I've got a '69 1500 VW
Beetle, with serious electrical issues.
The indicator lights don't work. A quick check revealed that the flasher
unit is broken, so I replaced that. The indicators clicked 3 times, then
the flasher unit burnt out. I replaced...

'69 Ghia by
Greg Whitcomb
I just picked up a 1969 Karmann Ghia for my father and I to restore. I'm in
Charlotte, NC and he's in Orlando, FL. This weekend I'm taking the engine
out for my part of the project and I'm leaving him with the rest of the car.
Good deal huh? :-) Then over Easter I'm taking it to him.
Anyways,...

'71 Beetle rear bumper reflectors by
Jim Adney
Stuck in with some parts I recently bought were a pair of rear
reflectors like the 2 little ones that came mounted on the rear
bumpers of '71 beetles. Since I generally don't do much with beetles,
I have no need for these.
If you want them, they are yours for the shipping. The mounting
brackets...

Any advice

'71 Ghia Convertible passenger latch by
Steve Mc
Something appears to be tweaked, because the passenger latch hook barely
grabs the windshield thing, and keeps popping off. Are there any adjustments
that can be made, or any other suggestions, to keep it from disengaging ?
Thanks,

I haven't bought tires in quite a while, so am surprised that I can't find
any around locally in the tire stores . The 5.60 - 15 is my original spare,
and I'm not even sure the 165R15 86T's are the best size for the car, though
they've been on it since '01.
Any help or suggestions would be...
