Porsche 914 to Bug gauge conversion question by
Karls
Hi RAMVA! As some of you may recall, I decided to install an early 914
gauge cluster on the bug. It's finally in and it looks great. But there
are some issues that must be covered.
Just as Speedy Jim suggested, the fuel gauge is designed to use the can
shaped (Porsche, Ghia) sender which stays...

would be to the left & down, but no luck. I can't push it by myself &
my closest neighbor is a 1/4 mile away! any suggestions? (Please try to
refrain from "park...

Carbon Monoxide monitoring by
Busahaulic
Back when I worked for the school district, they had throw-away carbon
monoxide indicators that they placed in buses when drivers complained of
headaches etc. A couple years back I hunted everywhere locally for one of
those, but couldn't find them. I was shopping in my Aircraft Spruce catalog
for a...

Alternator problems by
Karls
Hello all! It's been a while since my last posting, but now I'm back
working on the bugs. A friend of mine has a 74 standard bug which has
some electrical issues. A few months ago he burned most of the wires on
the engine compartment as well as a stereo. Now I'm helping him replace
the harness and...

Wheel adapters/safe? by
Mike West
On my first Bug in the 60's I had some wheel adapters on the back so I could
use some 5 spoke American Mags.
My question is, after all these years are they safe to use? I have my
chopped 66 running and it has late model 4 lug drums and I want something
different than the wheels that are available...

Help, oil all over the place today by
vic20owner
Ok I made the mistake of slightly overfilling the oil in my 71 bus on
the way to work a few days. In a hurry to not be late, I figured oh
well I'll just have to let it blow out and hope nothing gets
damaged....errr...
Later that day I found oil everywhere and removed it with brake
cleaner.....

auto paint manufactures by
george taylor
am looking into painting my Bug. A few places around me sell PPG and
DuPont. Does anyone have any pros and cons about either. Also are there any
other manufactures that might be better or more cost effective? I will be
using urethane paints.

Steering wheel squeak 90 Vanagon? by
G.I.O.
Hello all:
My 1990 VW Vanagon makes a rather loud squeaking noise when I turn the
steering wheel. It seems to be coming from just below the floor board. I
tried running some WD-40 down at the point where the shaft meets the
collar on the inside. That worked for a bit but now it's back.
Can anyone...
